About the Role

The campaign is seeking a full-time Deputy Policy & Special Projects Director to lead our policy department, produce high-quality policy research, execute our policy and communications strategy, and support various cross-departmental projects.

Responsibilities
  • Manage strategic planning and execution of the campaign's policy platform
  • Lead policy research and create one-pagers, issue briefs, and talking points
  • Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, policy experts, and advocacy groups to gather diverse perspectives on policy issues
  • Support special projects in collaboration with other campaign departments
  • Support supervision, management, and mentorship of the policy team

Requirements

Qualifications
  • At least 3 years of experience with policy and legislation, political campaigns, or related fields
  • Existing network of policy experts and strong networking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and organizational skills
  • Discretion when dealing with sensitive information
  • Ability to learn quickly, implement feedback, and meet tight deadlines under pressure
  • Willingness to be a team player and support colleagues and the campaign at large

Salary: $8,000 - $9,000 per month
