The Deputy Director will be responsible for managing operational activities and regulatory compliance of the
Water and Wastewater Division including a staff of 25. The Deputy Director will also have oversight of
additional divisions of the department to be determined in the selection process based on the applicant pool.
PRIMARY DUTY:This position's primary responsibilities include to lead and manage aspects of the assigned operational divisions and functional areas within the department. This includes budgeting, short and long-range planning, directing staff, operations, programs, and activities that align with city and department goals and objectives. Provides technical and professional assistance to internal and external parties.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
- Advanced degree preferred.
- Eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in municipal government with preference given to public works experience.
- Two (2) years of supervisory responsibility.
- Any combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:- Valid Class "C" Texas Driver License with a good driving record that is maintained continuously while employed.
