Position Overview:

As a Demand Planner at Siemens Mobility, you'll play a key role in keeping North America's rail networks moving by ensuring the right parts are available at the right time. Leveraging data, forecasting, and strategic planning, you'll help drive critical supply chain decisions that directly impact customer success and operational performance. What your day-to-day will look like:
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Material Managers, and Engineering to identify unreleased, obsolete, or updated parts. Evaluate the impact on maintenance schedules and develop mitigation plans.
  • Apply your knowledge of the SAP MRP system (Planning module) to enter forecasted demand, manage planning parameters & oversee the entire process.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop a streamlined, low-risk materials planning strategy for assigned business segments. Monitor end-to-end processes to ensure plan execution and secure material availability while improving inventory turnover.
  • Collaborate with engineering, MRP controllers, order management, material managers, and strategic procurement to address gaps and material shortages.
  • Track relevant metrics and generate reports, charts, and presentations to monitor end-to-end performance and promote transparency.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and achieve continuous improvement.

To thrive in this role, you have:
  • Bachelor's degree. Business, Commercial, Manufacturing, or Engineering Degree preferred. In lieu of Bachelor's degree, a combination of education and Siemens relevant experience will be considered,
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in SCM and Demand/Materials Planning.
  • Proficient in SAP ERP Material Planning Modules, included but not limited to:
    • Advanced application of transactions MD61, MD62 and MD63.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of MD04 including navigating through complex subcontracting items in a multi-BOM, muti-MRP Areas and multi-MRP Elements setting as well as the management of exception messages
    • Thorough understanding of relevant material master settings that impact MRP Flow such as Safety Stock, Special Procurement, Procurement Type, MRP Type, Lot size, Min/Max lot size, Rounding Value, among others.
    • Ability to review and interpret different Stock types across multiple plants (MMBE, Batch, Special Stock)
  • Highly analytical with the ability to interpret large datasets and leverage advanced Excel functions, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data visualization, to support forecasting and reporting.
  • Demonstrated success solving complex SAP MRP and process-related challenges through data-driven analysis, innovative problem-solving, and process improvements.
  • Experience in an engineer-to-order manufacturing environment, effectively managing multiple projects, balancing competing priorities, and meeting critical deadlines.

The pay range for this position is Sacramento, CA: $$82,212.00 Lexington, NC: $74,664.00 - Sacramento, CA: $110,976.00 Lexington, NC: $100,878.00 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
