Job Description

The Opportunity

KODE is growing quickly, and our ability to deliver projects fast, accurately, and with strong technical quality is critical to our next stage of growth.

We're looking for a Delivery Engineering Lead to become the technical backbone of our Delivery organization. This person will support our cohort Engineering Team Leads, serve as the first point of escalation for engineering blockers, review project engineering plans before they become risks, and help ensure projects are delivered with the right technical approach from the beginning. This person will not simply be another engineer who gets pulled into hard problems. They will be responsible for creating more structure, consistency, and technical confidence across the engineering organization.

This is the right role for someone who is highly technical, deeply operational, and energized by solving hard problems while also turning those learnings into scalable systems for the whole team.

What You'll Do
Engineering Escalation & Technical Support

  1. Serve as the first point of engineering escalation - Support our Engineering Team Leads when they are blocked, unsure of the right technical path, or need help resolving complex engineering issues.
  2. Unblock engineering work quickly - Jump into technical blockers, diagnose the issue, determine the right path forward, and either solve the issue directly or route it to the right SME to minimize any project timeline slippage
  3. Create a clear escalation process - Ensure engineering escalations are raised, documented, routed, and resolved in a consistent way.
Engineering Standardization

  1. Build scalable engineering systems - Create processes that allow engineers and Engineering Team Leads to handle more work with less confusion and fewer mistakes.
  2. Improve documentation and playbooks - Maintain practical engineering documentation that helps the team execute consistently across project types, verticals, modules, and technical scenarios.
  3. Turn hard problems into repeatable solutions - When unusual or difficult issues arise, capture the lessons learned and convert them into standards, reusable approaches, or automation.
Engineering Team Leadership

  1. Train and develop engineers - Build training programs, coaching moments, and recurring learning loops to improve the technical strength of the engineering organization.
  2. Own planning and resource readiness - Work with Engineering Team Leads to ensure project scopes are technically sound, required information has been collected, integration paths are understood, and major risks have been identified early.
  3. Promote accountability - Ensure engineering work is accurate, complete, and aligned with KODE standards before it reaches the client or Client Success team.
  4. Grow Engineering Team Leads - Manage and develop Engineering Team Leads so they become stronger technically, more consistent operationally, and more effective at managing their groups of engineers.
Engineering Innovation

  1. Make engineering delivery faster - Identify manual, repetitive, or error-prone parts of engineering execution and create better workflows, templates, and tools to improve performance.
  2. Drive integration automation - Work on data ingestion automation and similar workflow improvements that allow KODE OS to connect to building infrastructure faster and more efficiently.

Requirements

What We're Looking For

Required
  1. 7+ years of experience in technical implementation, building systems engineering, smart buildings, integrations, software implementation, or technical delivery, with experience supporting or leading engineering teams.
  2. Strong technical understanding of building systems, integrations, networks, BMS/BAS environments, IoT systems, or technical deployment workflows.
  3. Strong operational instincts: you know how to spot risk, simplify execution, create structure, and prevent issues before they become project blockers.
  4. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical trade offs clearly to PMs, Engineering Team Leads, Delivery leadership, SMEs, and client-facing teams.
  5. Strong people leadership skills, with a track record of coaching team members, raising performance, and creating accountability.
  6. Strong documentation and process management skills, with the ability to own and maintain engineering documentation, standards, and playbooks.
Preferred
  1. Experience building lightweight automation, internal tools, dashboards, scripts, or workflows that improve technical team productivity.
  2. Experience supporting enterprise clients, complex technical deployments, or multi-stakeholder implementation projects.
  3. Experience with KODE OS or similar configurable technical platforms.
  4. A doer-leader mindset: someone who can manage the team, build the system, and jump into projects when needed.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • Discretionary Bonus Program
  • Career Development Program
  • Comprehensive Health Insurance Package
  • Dynamic team and challenging projects
  • Flexible Paid Time Off
  • Welcoming and friendly work environment
  • Regular social events and activities
