At Kean’s College of Health Professions and Human Services, students prepare for a career dedicated to improving lives, strengthening communities and shaping the future of health and human services. The College offers undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs through departments including: Advanced Studies in Psychology, Athletic Training, Communication Sciences and Disorders, Counselor Education, Genetic Counseling, Health and Human Performance, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant Studies and Social Work. Many programs include internships and research opportunities, where students stay abreast of the latest breakthroughs and advancements in their fields.The College is a burgeoning hub for some of the latest technological advances and facilities in the nation, with psychology, occupational therapy and speech pathology clinics preparing students through hands-on training.

Under the direction of the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Dean acts as the chief academic leader and administrative officer of the College of Health Professions and Human Services. The Dean is responsible for ensuring excellence in all of the College’s programs and provides strategic leadership to advance its academic mission, operational effectiveness and long-term growth. The Dean is responsible for the overall administration of the College, including academic program quality, faculty and staff leadership, student success, strategic planning, budgeting and resource management, accreditation, enrollment initiatives and external partnerships. Working collaboratively with university leadership, faculty, staff, students, alumni and community stakeholders, the Dean fosters a culture of academic excellence and innovation, while ensuring compliance with institutional policies, accreditation standards and applicable laws and regulations. The Dean also works with campus leadership and the Kean University Foundation to secure private philanthropic resources to support the College’s mission. This position requires travel and a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours.

Qualifications: Candidates must have a terminal degree in a field related to the disciplines within the college; a distinguished scholarly or professional record within their discipline appropriate to lead and evaluate faculty and staff; and a minimum of five years of experience leading an academic program preparing graduates for clinical practice.

In compliance with New Jersey’s Pay Transparency Law, the annual salary range for this position is: $230,000 to $260,000. Additional Information

Employment at Kean requires working at any of our New Jersey campus locations or affiliated work sites, which may include, but not be limited to: the main campus in Union; Kean Ocean in Toms River; Kean Skylands in Jefferson Township; Kean Jersey City; Kean at Brookdale in Middletown Township; Manahawkin; Princeton; and Trenton. Location assignments will be based on operational and university needs. Faculty may also be assigned to teach online classes for Kean Global.
