PwC Deals Strategy - Value Creation Practice

We help our clients determine the right strategic priorities to grow profitably and maximize value, and offer support and practical solutions to achieve these objectives. We combine strategic insight, rigorous analysis and in-depth industry expertise with access to PwC's global network of industry and functional specialists, local knowledge and resources.

Growth Strategy: Assist clients assess where and how to grow by identifying organic and inorganic growth opportunities, unlocking growth levers and prioritizing growth programs (e.g., geographies, sectors / industries, customer segments, products / services)
Strategic Planning: Assist clients in setting their business ambitions, generate and evaluate key strategic initiatives to achieve these and deliver against a plan
Market Entry Strategy: Assist clients in assessing the attractiveness of a market by understanding market dynamics, including size (current and future), growth rate, key trends, market segments, profitability and cost structure, customers, distribution channels, key players and disruptors
Commercial Due Diligence: Assist both financial and corporate buyers and sellers in evaluating investments by understanding the dynamics of the deal and the business, including deal hypotheses, industry dynamics, value drivers, synergies and risks

In addition to working with clients, we regularly engage in new business development initiatives such as white paper discussion documents, client proposals, and practitioner training to increase our team's overall capabilities

As a Deal Integration and Value Realization Senior Associate, unlock your potential and embrace the chance to drive meaningful outcomes that'll elevate your career. Your role will include, but isn't limited to:

  • Collaborate with clients in defining their strategic ambitions and developing actionable plans to achieve long-term growth objectives
  • Facilitate strategy development processes, including strategic assessments, option evaluation and prioritization of key initiatives
  • Work with executive teams in evaluating organic and inorganic growth opportunities, including acquisitions, partnerships and new market expansion
  • Identify growth or operational enhancement opportunities to rapidly increase performance supported by data analysis
  • Partnering with companies in delivering on execution of growth or improvement opportunities
  • Support the development of growth plans, channel strategies and product strategies for clients to enable them to grow their business and maximize their enterprise value
  • Assist in developing the future strategy, business model and cost reduction targets as well as implementation plans to rapidly deliver on cost reduction initiatives
  • Identify quick wins to improve earnings and build stakeholder confidence
  • Help client management develop and implement a turnaround or transformation program


What You'll Bring

  • Strong problem-solving skills (both quantitative and qualitative)
  • Experience with business strategy, strategy deployment programs or strategic transformation programs
  • Advisory experience from a management consultancy, or as an 'internal consultant' in a multinational corporate
  • Strong analytical skills; ability to conduct analysis with spreadsheets, financial and operational KPIs, to create sustainable value for clients
  • Financial acumen - comfort with P&L analysis, cash flow and balance sheet work
  • General understanding of the M&A lifecycle, including transaction strategy, due diligence, value creation planning and post-transaction execution.
  • Strong executive communication and presentation skills, with the ability to synthesize complex analyses into clear recommendations and prepare executive-ready PowerPoint deliverables.
  • Willing to travel occasionally throughout Canada, with the potential to travel outside of Canada, depending on client requirements. Candidates must be able to enter the USA to work on client assignments

The salary range for this position is $77,500 - $127,500. The posted salary range represents the expected hiring range for PwC locations in major city centres. Given our national recruiting approach, ranges may vary for positions in other locations. At PwC Canada, base salary is determined by your skills, experience, qualifications and work location. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may have opportunities to participate in variable incentive pay programs which are designed to reward individual and firm-wide achievements. We are committed to offering competitive compensation and adhere to all relevant pay transparency legislation.
