Database Administrator II - with Oracle, SQL Server, Data Warehouse, and ETL backgrounds

Location: Austin, TX 78751 (Hybrid, Onsite & Telework)
Duration: 07/01/2026 - 08/31/2026
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $70/hour
Experience Level: 4-7 Years Required

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator II to support the installation, administration, optimization, and security of enterprise database environments. This role will be responsible for database design, performance tuning, data modeling, disaster recovery planning, security administration, and data warehouse support within a complex enterprise environment.

The ideal candidate will possess strong experience with enterprise database platforms, data warehouse architecture, ETL processes, reporting tools, and database performance optimization. This position requires a highly analytical professional capable of collaborating with both technical and business stakeholders while ensuring data integrity, security, and accessibility standards are maintained.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, and support enterprise database software and database migrations.
  • Design, analyze, modify, and maintain database structures and environments.
  • Develop and implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Establish database security controls and manage user access permissions.
  • Monitor database performance and implement tuning and optimization strategies.
  • Perform logical and physical data modeling and database design.
  • Create and maintain data dictionaries, standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Support data warehouse development, maintenance, and enhancement initiatives.
  • Coordinate data integration efforts while ensuring data integrity and minimizing redundancy.
  • Evaluate and recommend database management software and technologies.
  • Create and maintain test database environments.
  • Support accessibility compliance standards and assist users with accessibility-related data issues.
  • Collaborate with developers, analysts, and business users to support enterprise data initiatives.


Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience with database management systems and data warehouse environments.
  • Strong experience developing, implementing, and maintaining data warehouses and data marts.
  • Experience building and maintaining data dictionaries.
  • Experience with database access tools and application delivery.
  • Strong knowledge of reporting, analysis, planning, and management reporting functions.
  • Experience with data modeling methodologies including:
    • Star Schemas
    • Snowflake Schemas
    • Highly normalized data models
  • Experience with ETL tools such as:
    • Informatica
    • IBM WebSphere DataStage
    • Similar enterprise ETL solutions
  • Experience with enterprise database platforms such as:
    • Oracle
    • SQL Server
    • Teradata
    • Comparable technologies
  • Experience with business intelligence and reporting tools such as:
    • Business Objects
    • Cognos
    • Hyperion
    • MicroStrategy
  • Strong SQL development and database design experience.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple priorities in a complex environment.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Oracle Database administration experience.
  • SSRS report development experience.
  • M204 database experience.
  • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise data warehouse implementations.
  • Familiarity with benchmarking and performance testing methodologies.
