The Database Vulnerability Analyst serves as a technical specialist for database assets, supporting cybersecurity and IT services. This role is responsible for identifying and mitigating security vulnerabilities, analyzing the risk of changes, ensuring compliance with security guides, and providing recommendations to customers and partners.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as a technical specialist for database assets (e.g., Oracle, SQL, MySQL, DB2) on NIPRNet, SIPRNet, and isolated networks.
- Review, identify, and report problems with the installation and operation of database instances and potential security vulnerabilities.
- Identify, monitor, analyze, and report on the status of database vulnerabilities, escalating high-risk issues.
- Assess, audit, and validate compliance with Database Security Requirements Guides (SRGs) and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
- Determine the impact and risk of change requests and participate in Change Advisory Board meetings.
- Recommend security countermeasures to mitigate identified database risks.
- Provide recommendations for vulnerability analysis, deficiency resolution, and implementation to DISA customers and Mission Partners.
Minimum Qualifications- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- Certification: Current DoD 8570/8140 compliant certification.
- Experience:
- Five or more years of relevant/recent experience with Oracle, SQL, MySQL, or DB2 and cybersecurity.
- Three or more years of relevant/recent experience with Microsoft Office products.
