Full Job Description
Position Definition:

The incumbent will serve as the Data Analyst for sponsor-investigator initiated research studies examining biological determinants of ocular Ebola sequelae. The research is being conducted by investigators from the San Francisco VA Medical Center; Northern California Institute for Research and Education (NCIRE); and University of California, San Francisco

Essential Functions:
• Responsible for all aspects of data management process and programming activities for the clinical studies from data collection to publication ready.
• Specify the data collection tools and technology platforms for the trial/program.
• Specific responsibilities will include: overseeing data collection, creating a Data Management Plan, creating data processing pipeline, participate in Case Report Form design, develop/implement edit check specifications, develop/maintain software for the monitoring of ongoing studies, reporting, and analysis of clinical studies data.
• Facilitate integration of disparate data sources into datasets for analysis by the Biostatistician.
• Produce data listings, summary tables and graphics for interim and final analyses as well as publications.
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:
• Masters or Doctoral degree in Statistics, Epidemiology or a related field and at least 1 year of professional statistical experience, or an BA or BS in computer science, life sciences, statistics or math
• Advanced knowledge of statistical programming and machine learning
• Requires an in depth understanding of data collection, data flow management, data quality, data technology, dataset delivery, data archiving and data standards.
• Excellent interpersonal, written/oral communication and organizational skills
• Demonstrated Leadership, analytical, and problem solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects, tasks and priorities to achieve desired goals
• Strong accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to work under minimal supervision

Working Conditions/Environment:
The work environment for this position will include an indoor office and a medical research environment. It may include some minor annoyances such as noise, temperature variations, etc. The incumbent may sustain posture in standing or seated position and may utilize a computer terminal for prolonged periods of time.

VA Onboarding Requirements:

NCIRE is an affiliate organization of the San Francisco VA Health Care System (SFVAHCS), which requires all candidates to complete SFVA onboarding in addition to NCIRE's onboarding process. The SFVA is a federal agency that requires a federal background check, occupational health clearance, vaccines and immunizations, and drug testing for certain positions. Drug testing may include screening for marijuana which remains an illegal substance according to federal law. The failure to pass required drug testing will disqualify candidates from employment.

The base wage range for this position is $38.34 - $49.96 per hour. The wage actually offered to a successful candidate will take into account various relevant and non-discriminatory business factors including, without limitation, the candidate's geographic location, job-related experience, knowledge, and skills, and education, as well as internal equity considerations. A successful candidate may also be eligible to earn additional compensation including bonuses.
