As a
Database Admin II on the
Technology team, a typical day for you will include:
- Develop and maintain database systems, including design, implementation, and ongoing optimization.
- Ensure the performance, security, and availability of our database systems, including planning and executing backups and disaster recovery plans.
- Design and implement database security measures to protect sensitive data, including access controls, encryption, and data masking.
- Collaborate with developers and other IT staff to best design database systems as well as troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, such as performance problems or data inconsistencies.
- Develop and maintain documentation of database systems, including system architecture, configuration, and operational procedures.
- Perform regular database maintenance tasks, such as database optimization, capacity planning, and performance tuning.
- Plan and execute database upgrades and migrations, ensuring minimal downtime and data loss.

- Experience:
- 4+ years of experience in database administration, with a focus on SQL Server or PostgreSQL.
- Strong experience with database design, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of database security concepts and experience implementing security measures.
- Experience with database backup and recovery procedures, including disaster recovery planning.
- Skills:
- Familiarity with database migration and upgrade procedures.
- Candidate must be customer focused, goal oriented, and have a passion for success
- Experience and proven ability to communicate (verbally and written) effectively with business and IT stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Able to lead other database staff regarding best practices and techniques
- Able to clearly document complex database systems and structures including architectures, relationships, and configurations
- Education:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, or a related field
- Schedule / in-office requirements:
- Hybrid working model; Monday-Wednesday in office, Thursday/Friday from home.
