The role is part of the In-Space Systems business unit, which is focused on addressing two of the most compelling challenges in spaceflight today: space infrastructure and increasing mobility on-orbit.

This role is part of the Business Operations and Efficiency organization, which supports our Blue National Security business unit. Our mission is to maximize operational productivity and enable data-driven decision-making across Blue Origin through intelligent automation, analytics infrastructure, and AI-enabled tools that allow teams to accomplish more with existing resources.

As part of a hardworking team of diverse specialists and analysts, you will be a leader in defining and developing self-service analytics platforms, AI agents, and managing the product recurring cost model. You will help improve efficiency and overall product quality across the organization by driving activities related to data engineering, business intelligence, AI-assisted workflow automation, and cost model management.

Additionally, you will provide hands-on enablement to Blue National Security stakeholders, helping them build tools and develop technical capability. These activities will support Blue Origin's dedication to operational excellence and ensure teams have the insights and automation needed to scale effectively.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain data-supported business workflows and analytics infrastructure
  • Manage and maintain the recurring cost model for the product line, including data connections, macros, and formula logic in Excel; identify opportunities to modernize using analytics tools
  • Develop BlueGPT AI agents and AI-assisted workflows to automate operational tasks and enable self-service data access
  • Provide hands-on mentorship to Business Operations team members in Databricks and AI tool development
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify process inefficiencies and develop technical solutions that increase throughput and reduce manual effort
  • Drive adoption of modern data practices including orchestration, automation, and cloud-native architectures

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics development, or business intelligence
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel including advanced formulas, macros, and data connections
  • Strong hands-on experience with Databricks or similar platforms
  • Experience building data pipelines and orchestration workflows
  • Demonstrated ability to teach and enable technical skills to non-technical or developing team members
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to translate ambiguous business problems into technical solutions
  • Must be able to work onsite in Kent, WA or Denver, CO
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

Desired:

  • Experience in aerospace, automotive, or manufacturing analytics environments
  • Background in operational efficiency, process improvement, or business operations roles
  • Experience with AI/LLM development including Claude API, GPT agents, or similar platforms
  • Proficiency in Python for data science, automation, and ETL/ELT development
  • Proficiency in SQL (BigQuery, MySQL, Postgres, Redshift, or similar)
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS ECS/ECR, Docker, Terraform, or GCP)
  • Familiarity with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, or custom visualization platforms)
  • Demonstrated experience building self-service analytics platforms or data catalogs
  • Experience with cost modeling or program cost management
  • Proven ability to write formal process documents, policies, and procedures
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance

Base Pay Range for:

CO applicants is $90,934.00 - $127,307.25 WA applicants is $99,201.00 - $138,880.35
