Full Job Description
ABOUT THE ROLE:

ICA.ai is seeking aData Scientist to design and deliver data science and AI solutions for complex healthcare, federal health, and regulated-data environments. This role requires strong technical depth, practical judgment, and the ability to take ownership from ambiguous problem definition through evaluation and production. A Public Trust Clearance is required for the role, and we will work with you to obtain this.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Build machine-learning, analytics, NLP, and generative-AI solutions using structured and unstructured data.
  • Develop and improve workflows that transform documents, free text, and other complex source data into reliable structured outputs.
  • Build downstream data-science solutions such as classification, prediction, prioritization, analytics, and decision-support workflows.
  • Perform data preparation, feature development, experimentation, model evaluation, error analysis, and validation.
  • Investigate model and data-quality issues and iterate on approaches when results do not meet expectations.
  • Contribute to production workflows, monitoring, human-review processes, and reproducible data-science practices.
  • Work with senior technical staff, domain experts, and stakeholders to translate requirements into practical technical solutions.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent work experience in Data Science or related field
  • Hands-on experience building data science, machine-learning, or applied-AI solutions.
  • Strong Python and SQL skills with solid foundations in statistics, machine learning, experimentation, and data analysis.
  • Experience working with unstructured data such as documents, free text, NLP, information extraction, document AI, or LLM-based workflows.
  • Ability to independently execute defined projects, evaluate results, troubleshoot failures, and communicate findings clearly.
  • Understanding of how data quality and extraction errors can affect downstream models and analytics.
  • Experience working with production systems, sensitive data, or high-accountability environments is preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare, life sciences, government, or regulated industries is a plus.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and have lived in the US for 3 or more consecutive years.
  • Must be able and willing to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
