DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Turn data into insights to impact the strategy and direction of Wholesale Payments products. Develop approaches for understanding clients and their behavior to deliver custom insights for a continually improved payment experience. Invent ways to answer key business questions by leveraging existing data assets or creating new ones. Develop, plan and execute analytical projects as an individual contributor and in teams. Contribute to analytical insights in collaboration with product managers, end users, developers, and other stakeholders to integrate data discoveries and processes into operational capabilities. Deliver practical data insights to senior leadership. Articulate findings in presentations, discussions and visualizations. Develop and maintain subject matter expertise in the wide range domains in payments and liquidity to support a diverse set of products. Develop bank data into data assets and insert tactical and strategic product solutions into current- state systems.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Mathematics or related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or as Data Scientist, Business Intelligence Analyst, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Mathematics or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Data Scientist, Business Intelligence Analyst, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires three (3) years of experience with the following: performing data manipulation, data model structuring, data flow design and query optimization using advanced SQL including CTE, Windows functions, and Joins to develop client segmentation and targeting for business development; developing large scale, high performance data processing systems to drive and improve product experience; automating data pipelines using Python and job status monitoring and data quality checks; using Python including Pandas and Numpy packages for exploratory data analysis within large enterprise databases (Gigabytes to Terabytes) to extract, clean, transform, merge, and enrich data; using Python to parse and process data from a variety of file sources and formats including CSV, Excel, TXT, and JSON; using business intelligence tools such as Tableau to develop intuitive data visualizations and dashboards, including geographical map, heatmap, scatterplot, time-series plot, and distribution plot; developing dashboards with interactive features to help users navigate, filter, and drill down; designing and building telemetry and usage tracking solutions for BI tools such as Tableau to improve tool governance and monitoring; defining agenda for data science and analytical projects, including translating vague business questions into analytical problem statement, defining approaches and deliverables, setting up acceptance criteria and laying out execution plan; leading and managing projects of strategic importance that impact key business decisions across sales, client service, or marketing; presenting findings to senior level stakeholders with facts and story-telling; designing and conducting experiments to derive proxy solutions for business problems with ambiguities; simplifying problems by adopting dimensionality reduction methods; adopting machine learning models including regression, classification, and anomaly detection to solve problems and derive actionable insights, including detecting data quality anomalies, analyzing client propensity, and finding operational efficiency improvement opportunities.
