Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking an Experienced Data Scientist to work in the Production AI & Digital Strategy team within the Manufacturing & Safety organization based in Everett, Washington on First Shift.

This role requires a highly skilled individual contributor who will lead and facilitate the development, integration, and execution of strategic business programs, plans and projects supporting AI-driven production initiatives. You will be instrumental in leading cross-functional projects to determine, define and deploy complex predictive/prescriptive analytic solutions using Artificial Intelligence and other methods and tools to meet business objectives.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Make use of and apply job practices, techniques, standards, principles, theories, and concepts
  • Provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity.
  • Work under general supervision, special assignments. makes sound technical judgment and overall adequacy
  • Contribute to the completion of specific project milestones
  • Interact primarily with internal personnel and infrequently with inter-organizational and external customers on routine matters
  • Evaluate business objectives to determine stakeholder needs.
  • Choose best fit methods, defines algorithms, validates and deploys models to achieve business results.
  • Perform necessary data preparation and enhancements to models.


Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience):
  • 5+ years of programming experience in Python for data analysis, mathematical modeling, machine learning, and automation
  • 5+ years of SQL skills for data extraction, transformation, and analysis across operational and analytical datasets
  • Statistics, Data Analysis, and Mathematical Modeling - Experience applying statistical methods, mathematical modeling, and analytical techniques to solve business problems, support decision-making, and identify trends or patterns
  • Machine Learning - Experience developing, training, and evaluating predictive models using supervised and unsupervised learning techniques
  • Natural Language Processing (NLP) - Experience applying NLP techniques to extract insights from text data, build text-based models, or support language-related business use cases


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Cloud Platforms Experience working in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform for data storage, processing, and model deployment
  • MLOps / Model Deployment Experience deploying machine learning models into production and monitoring model performance over time
  • Advanced Statistical Methods Experience with regression, classification, clustering, hypothesis testing, causal inference, or Bayesian methods
  • Deep Learning Experience with neural networks or frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch, especially for NLP, computer vision, or complex predictive tasks
  • API Development / Integration Experience using APIs to integrate models or automate data workflows
  • Project Management / Cross-Functional Collaboration Experience working with business partners, engineers, analysts, and leadership to define problems and deliver solutions
  • Communication of Technical Results Ability to translate complex analytical findings into clear recommendations and actionable business insights
  • Version Control / Collaboration Experience using GitLab or similar version control tools in a collaborative development environment
  • Domain Knowledge Experience working in complex, data-driven environments such as airlines, manufacturing, logistics, or supply chain is preferred
  • Data Visualization and Business Communication Experience using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Dataiku, or similar platforms to communicate insights to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
