Full Job Description
This role sits at the center of our platform strategy, AI innovation, and the partnerships that shape how we run the full lifecycle of payer contracts, government pricing, and rebate programs for a growing portfolio of medicines.

We are seeking a Data & Platform Architect who brings the technical depth to shape the strategic direction and evolution of a complex cloud platform, along with the eye for business to align that platform with the strategy it enables across Lilly and with our primary partner, IntegriChain. This person will shape the platform roadmap, champion AI-driven automation, and translate the complexity of pharma payer contract management into scalable, intelligent solutions.

As Lilly purposefully expands its use of AI and automation to handle growing contract volumes across chargebacks, government pricing, Medicare, and utilization-based rebates, this role will be instrumental in defining where and how AI fits into the LVA operational model and holding vendors and internal teams accountable to that vision.

This role is well suited for a technically strong, self-directed professional who is curious, takes initiative, and is eager to grow by learning the business deeply on the job. Candidates with a consulting approach and a passion for IT, AI, and platform strategy will be especially well positioned to succeed in this opportunity.

What You Will Do

Platform Strategy & Vendor Influence
  • Define and lead the strategic data & architectural vision & direction for Lilly's contract management and rebate platform, ensuring alignment with LVA business objectives and enterprise technology standards.
  • Serve as Lilly's primary technical voice with IntegriChain, actively influencing the vendor's product roadmap and pushing for capabilities that advance Lilly's operational and AI/automation goals.
  • Partner with LVA business collaborators, T[redacted] product managers, and product owners to turn complex contract and payment challenges into clear technical requirements, platform enhancements, and long-term roadmap priorities.
  • Lead architecture reviews, risk assessments, and governance forums for the platform, ensuring solutions are SOX-audit-compliant, scalable, resilient, and secure.

AI & Automation Leadership
  • Partner with key business collaborators to identify and prioritize AI and automation opportunities across LVA processes, from contracts and formulary analysis to rebate reconciliation.
  • Architect and be responsible for the implementation of AI-powered solutions and integrations with the ICyte platform, SAP, and other Lilly systems.
  • Integrate Lilly agentic AI workflows with IntegriChain workflows that accelerate interpretation of complex contract and government pricing data, reducing manual effort and supporting Lilly's growing sales volume.
  • Champion adoption of AI-driven features across adjacent LVA systems; influence vendor development investments toward intelligent automation priorities.

Architecture & Delivery
  • Define and govern application, integration, data, security, and infrastructure architecture across the LVA platform ecosystem, including cloud-native integrations with upstream and downstream enterprise systems.
  • Establish and enforce architectural standards, patterns, and best practices; drive continuous improvement through modernization, cloud optimization, and technical debt reduction.
  • Provide architectural guidance throughout the product lifecycle; anticipate and resolve complex technical, operational, or business problems that impact LVA's contract management capability.
  • Translate business needs and automation opportunities into a coherent technical roadmap that can be communicated clearly to engineering teams, data engineers, policy experts, and senior leadership

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in IT architecture, solution design, or technical leadership roles
  • Demonstrated experience architecting SaaS and/or cloud-based solutions, preferably on AWS
  • Strong understanding of cloud-native architecture patterns including microservices, APIs, event-driven architecture, MCP, and agentic workflows
  • Proven ability to influence external technology vendors or SaaS providers, including shaping product roadmaps without direct authority.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, life sciences, or government pricing systems particularly in revenue management, contract management, or rebate processing
  • Hands-on experience with agentic AI, AI/ML, solution design, or automation within enterprise SaaS environments.
  • Experience designing and leading data pipelines for analytics and reporting; Power BI experience is a plus
  • AWS certifications (Solutions Architect - Associate or Professional preferred)
  • Experience with DevOps and CI/CD.
  • Experience working in regulated or compliance-driven environments (SOX, HIPAA, or similar) is a plus; Lilly will provide domain onboarding for the right candidate
  • Shown ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical collaborators, including senior IT and business leaders.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to navigate multi-functional, matrixed organizations

Who You Will Work With

This role reports to the Director of Contract Management and Analytics and works in close partnership with key business and IT leaders across the LVA organization, including the Senior Architect. Day-to-day collaboration spans LVA business collaborators, data engineering, product management, and the broader Tech at Lilly enterprise architecture community, as well as Lilly's primary SaaS partner, IntegriChain.

What Sets You Apart

The candidates who will thrive in this role are not just architects-they are strategic influencers. You bring a point of view on where AI can transform payer contract operations, and you can make that case convincingly to business leaders and technology vendors alike. You are comfortable working in ambiguity, able to balance long-term vision with near-term execution, and energized by the pace and complexity of a dynamic environment where intelligent technology is modernizing regulated business processes.

This role requires a passion for modern cloud architecture, AI/automation innovation, and delivering high-quality solutions in a complex environment where your work directly supports patient access to life-changing medicines.
