Full Job Description
As a Data Management Engineer III, you will design, build, and support automation solutions that help improve mission outcomes across complex environments. This role spans scripting, software development, robotic process automation, agentic artificial intelligence (AI) workflows, and systems integration, with a focus on selecting the right technology for each use case. The ideal candidate brings hands-on engineering experience, sound technical judgment, and the ability to deliver secure, scalable solutions that reduce manual effort and increase operational efficiency.

As a PROJECT - Data Management Engineer III on the team, you will be responsible for...
  • Designing and developing automation solutions across scripting, software development, robotic process automation (RPA), application programming interface (API) integrations, user interface development, and agentic AI workflows
  • Evaluating automation opportunities and recommending solution designs based on business needs, system constraints, and program requirements
  • Building secure automation solutions, test suites, and technical documentation that support deployment, maintenance, and operational resilience
  • Maintaining and enhancing an automation portfolio by monitoring performance, troubleshooting issues, applying updates, and refactoring solutions as platforms and requirements evolve
  • Using AI-assisted development tools and modern engineering practices to accelerate delivery, improve quality, and strengthen team automation capabilities

Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 4+ years of experience in application development using test-driven development and Python
  • 4+ years of experience in machine learning, advanced statistical analysis and modeling, and Tableau
  • Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance with polygraph
  • Ability to work onsite in Annapolis Junction, Maryland
  • Ability to travel 10-25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
Preferred:
  • Experience with software development life cycle (SDLC)
  • Experience with UiPath or another enterprise robotic process automation platform
  • Experience with application programming interface (API) integrations
  • Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting
  • Experience preparing technical documentation for security review or Authority to Operate (ATO) processes
For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in Maryland, Deloitte is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to Maryland and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $102,800 to $171,300.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
