Position Summary:

Securian has an amazing opportunity for someone that is curious, eager to learn, and excited to be part of an innovative team using data and technology to tackle business challenges.  As a Senior Data Engineer you are part of a team that is responsible for designing, developing, and automating scalable data pipelines that power innovative Artificial Intelligence and analytic solutions.  You will learn and grow to stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in this dynamic data and analytics space.  You will collaborate with a range of teams including Data Science, Data Platform, Data Management, Information Technology teams, and business partners to understand requirements, ensure data is trusted and accessible, and deliver creative solutions to business problems.  

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Lead the efforts to design, build, and optimize the creation of complex data pipelines and transformations enabling Artificial Intelligence, advanced analytics, and other enterprise use cases.
  • Research, recommend, implement, and drive changes to evolve architecture and patterns to meet quickly changing data requirements.
  • Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, machine learning engineers, technology teams and other stakeholders to understand requirements, prioritize tasks, and lead the delivery of data solutions that excite stakeholders and deliver business value.
  • Mentor and consult with team members and provide leadership and direction to other areas to ensure best practices and optimal data solutions are implemented.
  • Leverage data governance and data security tooling, processes, and principles to ensure data is secure, easy to find, trusted, and accessible.
  • Devise technical solutions to drive business outcomes based on an understanding of customers, business processes and technical requirements.

Qualifications:

  • 4 year degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • 5+ years' experience with tools and concepts related to data and analytics, such as ETL, data storage options, data quality, working with structured and unstructured data.
  • ANSI SQL Skills/Experience.
  • Snowflake and Cloud knowledge and experience 6 AWS preferred.
  • Programming experience - Python or Java preferred.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical abilities.
  • Solid communication skills.
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn.
  • Flexibly and adaptability.

#LI-Hybrid**This position willhave a hybrid working arrangement, workingin-officefor a minimum of3days aweek.**

$89,000.00 - $164,300.00
