Full Job Description
Hudson River Trading (HRT) is seeking a hands-on Data Center Technician with experience in data center operations to join our Trading Infrastructure (SysTrade) team. If you enjoy solving complex infrastructure challenges, working with cutting-edge technology, and thrive in a fast-paced, global environment, we'd love to hear from you.

In this role, you'll play a critical part in building and maintaining the high-performance infrastructure that powers HRT's global trading operations. You'll be responsible for everything from racking and cabling to planning large-scale deployments-ensuring our colocations remain robust, efficient, and low-latency.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, execute, and document data center installations, upgrades, and maintenance projects
  • Travel to regional and remote data centers to lead infrastructure projects and ongoing operational work
  • Oversee and coordinate remote hands tasks
  • Install and document racks, structured cabling, servers, switches, PDUs, and other hardware per HRT's regional and global standards
  • Manage equipment inventory, forecast hardware needs, and coordinate logistics
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, vendors, and partners to ensure infrastructure uptime and performance

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in high-availability or financial colocation environments
  • Strong understanding of data center power systems, redundancy, and infrastructure design
  • Deep knowledge of copper and fiber cabling, including best practices for structured cabling
  • Familiarity with rack-level cooling and airflow management
  • Proven experience building PC/server hardware-bonus points for overclocking expertise
  • Comfortable using Linux (especially bash) and troubleshooting serial console access
  • Proficient with hand tools and able to lift up to 30 lbs of equipment
  • Bonus: Python or shell scripting experience
  • Clear communicator who enjoys cross-team collaboration
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities under minimal supervision
  • Proactive problem solver with a passion for learning and evolving alongside new technologies
  • Willing to travel regularly and thrive in a dynamic, hands-on environment

The estimated base salary range for this position is 80,000 to 120,000 USD per year (or local equivalent). The base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This role will also be eligible for discretionary performance-based bonuses and a competitive benefits package.
