Full Job Description
Data Center Facilities Program Manager

Teraswitch is seeking a Data Center Facilities Program Manager to own the planning, delivery, expansion, and lifecycle management of our global data center footprint.

Teraswitch operates unmanaged bare metal infrastructure across multiple colocation facilities. This role ensures each site has the rack space, power, cooling, connectivity, equipment, documentation, and vendor coordination required to support present and future server capacity.

You will lead new site builds, expansions, and migrations from initial planning through production readiness. You will work closely with colocation providers, infrastructure vendors, contractors, and internal Teraswitch teams to keep projects organized and deliver capacity when the business needs it.

This is a program ownership role-not a position focused on personally performing every physical installation. You will define requirements, build plans, coordinate the responsible parties, manage dependencies, and ensure work is completed and documented correctly.

What you'll own
  • Lead Teraswitch data center builds, expansions, migrations, and decommissions.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, dependencies, risks, budgets, and completion criteria.
  • Coordinate with colocation providers, contractors, infrastructure vendors, and internal Teraswitch teams.
  • Define site infrastructure requirements, including racks, cabinets, PDUs, power circuits, connectors, cabling, containment, and related equipment.
  • Ensure required infrastructure is selected, sourced, delivered, installed, and validated on schedule.
  • Coordinate contractor access, scopes of work, scheduling, site turn-up activities, and completion evidence.
  • Work with facility providers and contractors to investigate and resolve power, cooling, airflow, and environmental issues.
  • Own facility related monitoring.
  • Ensure power, temperature, capacity, and other relevant facility data are visible, accurate, and actionable.
  • Track available and consumed rack space, power, cooling, and other physical capacity across all Teraswitch sites.
  • Forecast when sites will require additional racks, circuits, cooling improvements, or broader expansion.
  • Maintain accurate facility records, including rack elevations, power assignments, floor plans, site photographs, vendor contacts, access procedures, and escalation paths.
  • Establish and perform recurring site audits to reconcile documented conditions with the physical environment.
  • Coordinate internal teams during day-one site buildouts and ensure each site is ready for production use.
  • Develop repeatable standards, checklists, and processes for builds, expansions, audits, and decommissions.
  • Provide clear project and capacity reporting to Operations leadership.
How you'll work with other teams

You will work especially closely with Teraswitch's Server Fulfillment & Capacity Team. That team determines where server capacity is needed and develops the fulfillment plan; you ensure the intended destination has the rack space, power, cooling, connectivity, and supporting infrastructure required to receive it.

You will also partner with:
  • Operations.
  • Purchasing.
  • Logistics.
  • Network and Infrastructure teams.
  • Colocation providers and contractors performing work at Teraswitch sites.
What we're looking for
  • Experience coordinating data center, colocation, critical-facility, infrastructure-delivery, or similarly technical projects.
  • Working knowledge of data center power, cooling, rack layouts, PDUs, cabling, and physical-capacity planning.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple vendors, projects, sites, and dependencies simultaneously.
  • Strong project-management skills with consistent attention to deadlines, blockers, documentation, and follow-through.
  • Ability to translate business capacity requirements into specific facility and infrastructure requirements.
  • Experience reviewing vendor proposals, scopes of work, equipment specifications, and implementation plans.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across technical teams, vendors, contractors, and leadership.
  • Comfort working with monitoring, documentation, ticketing, and infrastructure-management systems.
  • The judgment to identify risks early, escalate clearly, and drive work through completion.
Helpful experience
  • Experience working with colocation providers or similar operators.
  • Familiarity with Zabbix, Grafana, Atlassian products.
  • Experience onboarding and monitoring intelligent PDUs.
  • Experience with new-site turn-ups, rack-and-power deployments, capacity expansions, migrations, or site decommissions.
  • Experience supporting bare metal, hosting, cloud, network, or large-scale server infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with contractor management and remote-hands operations.
Schedule

This role generally works Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern. Some scheduled work may occur outside standard business hours to support site turn-ups, maintenance windows, migrations, or time-sensitive facility events.

Success in this role

Success means Teraswitch sites are ready before server capacity is needed. Facility projects have clear owners, timelines, and requirements; rack and power availability are accurately documented; infrastructure is monitored; vendors and contractors are coordinated effectively; and site limitations are identified early enough for the business to act.

Compensation and Benefits

Along with a competitive pay scale, full-time Teraswitch employees are eligible for the following benefits:
  • Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance
  • 401(k) with company profit sharing
  • PTO and 11 Company Paid Holidays
