Data Center Commissioning Project Manager
Summary
We are seeking a Data Center Commissioning Project Manager to support data center projects as part of a multidisciplinary team of electrical and mechanical engineers. This role will focus on reviewing design documents and test scripts, commissioning data center systems, walking down equipment, and ensuring equipment is operating correctly. The ideal candidate will have a mechanical or electrical engineering background with project management, controls, and commissioning experience.
Key Responsibilities
  • Review design documents and test scripts for data center projects.
  • Support commissioning activities for data center systems and equipment.
  • Conduct equipment walkdowns to verify proper operation.
  • Identify issues and provide feedback on required fixes or updates.
  • Work independently while collaborating with internal engineering teams and partner teams at the site.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to complete project tasks.
  • Apply project management skills to support data center project execution.
  • Work across mechanical, electrical, and controls disciplines to make technical decisions and resolve challenges.
  • Use Microsoft Office tools to support project activities and documentation.
Typical Day in the Role
  • Primary focus: Reviewing design documentation and test scripts, commissioning equipment, and completing equipment walkdowns.
  • Team interaction: Independent work within your own team, with regular collaboration with partner teams, subcontractors, and vendors at the site.
  • Work schedule: Monday-Friday, typically 7:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. or 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
  • Some overtime may be required; no weekend work.
  • Multidisciplinary data center environment with significant cross-functional collaboration.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 5-6 years of total experience in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, project management, or data center commissioning.
  • Mechanical or electrical engineering background.
  • Project management experience.
  • Controls background.
  • Microsoft Office experience.
  • Minimum of a high school diploma with relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, particularly for candidates newer to the field or with less experience.
