Full Job Description
Position Function:

The Data Governance Program Manager will lead the establishment of policies and standards for the Bank's new risk management programs and support data analytics within the Risk Management department.

The position will oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of governance frameworks appropriate for the size and complexity of the Bank to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and mitigate risks associated with data and model usage across the organization. This role involves managing a working group through plan implementation, collaborating with departments, providing subject matter expertise, and producing data-driven reporting to senior management.

Primary Accountabilities:

Data Governance:

  • Design and develop a structured data governance framework informed by DAMA best practices that enable effective data-driven decision-making.
  • Communicate and implement data ownership, stewardship, and quality standards across multiple systems and business functions.
  • Collaborate with system owners and data owners to lead the integration of data governance controls across business units and enterprise platforms.
  • Collaborate with Emerging Technologies to design and transform enterprise analytics to ensure accuracy and alignment with business needs.
  • Monitor the data quality of critical data fields at the enterprise-level and produce actionable insights for management on data risk management.
  • Serve as a consultative resource to business units to support data literacy, management, and usage activities.


Model Risk Management:

  • Serve as a consultative resource to model developers and model owners to support governance activities.
  • Collaborate with model owners to support the integration of model governance requirements into business unit processes.
  • Monitor the remediation of model risk findings and recommendations.


Project Management and Collaboration:

  • Lead a working group through program development and implementation
  • Manage external contractors to ensure timely and effective completion program projects.
  • Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization.


Enterprise Risk Management:

  • Support the administration of quarterly executive & board of director reporting.
  • Support the administration of the GRC application.
  • Support initiatives in other fields of risk management, as needed.


Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited 4-year university in management information systems, data management, data analytics, finance, economics, or a related field required.


Experience:
  • 6+ years of experience in Data governance, data management, data engineering, model risk management, or enterprise analytics required.
  • 2+ years of experience in Program development, or project management preferred.


Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to perform light physical work and to move or lift items including but not limited to boxes, files and papers up to 20 pounds unless otherwise as indicated.
  • Must be able to operate and proficiently use standard office equipment, including phone, copier, personal computer and/or other work related mechanical or electronic devices and applications.
  • Must be able to clearly communicate verbally and in writing with all internal and external customers. Must also be able to hear sufficiently to engage in daily discussions and interactions.
  • Must be able to read and understand bank-related documents.
  • Must be able to work in a conventional office setting, involving sitting at a desk or workstation for long periods of time. Must also be able to adapt to different work environments as needed to perform the job.
