The role directly supervises, coaches, and develops a small BI team, while personally building the data models, dashboards, and analytical solutions that improve job-cost visibility, WIP reporting, forecasting, and labor analysis. It translates business needs into scalable data products and ensures reporting is trustworthy, performant, and governed.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

-Lead the design, development, testing, and release of enterprise dashboards, semantic models, operational reports, and self-service analytics solutions.

-Deliver complex analysis supporting job cost, committed costs, WIP, earned value, forecasting, labor utilization, equipment, procurement, cash flow, and project controls.

-Lead and develop the BI team through workload planning, quality review, performance feedback, coaching, cross-training, recruiting, and onboarding.

-Manage the analytics intake queue and prioritize projects, enhancements, and production support based on operational and financial impact.

-Partner with internal stakeholders, application owners, and implementation vendors to define requirements and deliver scalable analytics solutions.

-Establish consistent data definitions, calculation logic, source-to-target mappings, documentation, and reporting standards across Finance and Operations.

-Identify and address data-quality, integration, reconciliation, security, and access-control risks affecting critical financial, employee, customer, and project data.

-Support data warehouse, integration, MDM, and data-governance initiatives by defining business requirements, ownership, stewardship, controls, and operational readiness. Escalate material scope, timeline, data-quality, security, and integration risks to the Enterprise Applications Director.

-Drive adoption of governed analytics solutions through training, documentation, stakeholder feedback, usage monitoring, and retirement of approved redundant reports and manual processes.

SKILLS

-Strong capabilities in data modeling, dashboard design, data validation, requirements gathering, and report-performance optimization.

-Expertise in enterprise dashboards, semantic models, operational reporting, and self-service analytics delivery.

-Working knowledge of ERP and project-management data, including job cost, commitments, forecasts, labor, billing, AP, AR, general ledger, and project controls.

-Foundational knowledge of data warehouse architecture, including source-system integration, ETL/ELT, dimensional or semantic models, data lineage, refresh processes, and role-based access controls.

-Ability to establish and maintain data definitions, calculation logic, source-to-target mappings, reconciliations, exception reporting, and reporting documentation.

-Knowledge of data-governance and MDM practices, including data ownership, stewardship, business definitions, data-quality rules, approval workflows, and change management.

-Strong stakeholder engagement, team coaching, cross-functional leadership, vendor coordination, and executive communication skills.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

-Five or more years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, reporting, financial systems, enterprise applications, or related disciplines.

-Two or more years of experience leading analysts, BI developers, or data-focused project teams.

-Experience supporting a data warehouse, reporting modernization, system integration, or data-governance initiative; direct implementation ownership preferred.

-Experience in construction, engineering, real estate, professional services, manufacturing, or another project-based environment preferred.

-Experience with construction ERP, project-management, estimating, field-management, CRM, HRIS, document-management, cloud data platforms, APIs, middleware, ETL/ELT tools, or data warehouse environments preferred.
