Position Summary
The Data Analytics Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise reporting and analytics solutions that support internal business operations, strategic decision-making, and data sharing with external business partners. This role partners closely with business stakeholders and analysts to build scalable data models, develop optimized SQL solutions, and expand the organization's Microsoft Fabric and Power BI reporting platform.
The ideal candidate possesses strong SQL expertise, data modeling skills, and experience building modern analytics solutions. This individual will play a key role in enhancing the organization's reporting capabilities, improving data accessibility, and delivering reliable, actionable insights to both internal and external audiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries, views, stored procedures, and data transformation processes.
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise reporting and analytics solutions using Microsoft Fabric and Power BI.
- Design and maintain semantic models, datasets, pipelines, and reporting structures that support enterprise analytics and external reporting.
- Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations that provide actionable insights for internal stakeholders and external business partners.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into scalable analytics solutions.
- Support self-service analytics by partnering with analysts and business users to develop reusable data assets and reporting solutions.
- Identify opportunities to automate reporting processes and recommend enhancements to the organization's analytics platform.
Education & Experience
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience developing reporting or analytics solutions.
- Advanced SQL development experience.
- Experience developing reports and dashboards using Power BI.
- Experience working with relational databases and data modeling concepts.
Preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric.
- Experience building semantic models and enterprise reporting solutions.
- Experience designing data warehouses, Lakehouses, or dimensional data models.
- Experience with ETL/ELT development and data integration processes.
- Experience within insurance, reinsurance, financial services, or other highly regulated industries.
- Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Azure Data, or related certifications.
Skills & Qualifications
- Advanced SQL development and performance tuning skills.
- Strong understanding of relational databases, dimensional modeling, and data warehousing concepts.
- Experience developing Power BI reports, dashboards, and semantic models.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric or comparable cloud analytics platforms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
