Full Job Description
Weyerhaeuser Wood Products is seeking a highly analytical, proactive Business Analyst I, or II to support Logistics, Claims, and Operational Analytics. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving cross-functional business problems, improving process discipline, and using data to drive better transportation, claims, customer, and operational decisions.

In this role, you will help translate operational needs into practical reporting, insights, and process improvements across freight movement, claims documentation, carrier performance, cost-to-serve visibility, and customer-facing execution. You will partner with Logistics, Sales, Manufacturing, Distribution, Finance, Claims, Customer Experience, and IT to improve decision quality and standardize how information is captured, analyzed, and acted upon.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze logistics performance and cost drivers across truck, rail, reload/DC, and customer delivery flows; identify trends, gaps, and improvement opportunities.
  • Support claims processing and documentation discipline by improving visibility to required claim evidence, including shipment records, photos, seals, damage documentation, and follow-up actions.
  • Translate business questions into practical reporting solutions using Power BI, Excel, SQL, ERP data, and other available tools.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Logistics, Sales, Manufacturing, Distribution, Finance, Claims, Customer Experience, and IT to clarify requirements, align metrics, and drive adoption.
  • Build maintainable analytics products that turn complex data into clear insights, recommendations, and operational routines.
  • Identify and lead process improvement opportunities that reduce manual work, strengthen controls, improve claim recovery support, and enhance customer/customer-facing execution.
  • Educate business users on reporting content, definitions, data limitations, and recommended actions.
  • Use emerging technology thoughtfully including automation, AI-enabled productivity, and workflow tools where they improve speed, accuracy, or standardization.


Qualifications
  • 4-year degree and 2-5+ years of relevant experience in Wood Products, Logistics, Supply Chain, Claims, Operations, Sales Enablement, or Analytics; or 2-5+ years successful performance in an Analyst I/II WY role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience turning business requirements into reporting, insights, and recommendations.
  • Demonstrated experience with Power BI, Excel, DAX, advanced MS Office tools, and ERP/business process reporting.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders using data-backed insights and clear storytelling.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity, work across functions, support change, and balance detail-level analysis with practical business judgment.
Preferred Attributes / Experience
  • Experience with transportation, rail/truck operations, freight claims, customer delivery, reload/DC operations, or SAP/ERP shipment processes.
  • Familiarity with claims documentation requirements, product damage/theft workflows, photo evidence retention, or root-cause tracking.
  • Ability to understand cost drivers, tradeoffs, service impacts, and operational performance metrics
  • Experience working with large, multi-source datasets and simplifying complex analysis into action-oriented recommendations.
  • Curiosity and comfort with technology, automation, AI basics, and continuous improvement opportunities with Forest Products industry, SAP, CRM, Service Cloud, or customer-facing operational tools is a plus
  • Expert SQL, including complex transformations, window functions, performance tuning, and query optimization on large datasets.
  • Strong hands-on experience with a modern transformation framework (dbt strongly preferred) and version-controlled analytics workflows (Git, code reviews, CI/CD)

What We Offer

Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting the salary range between $69,396- $104,095 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 5% of base pay depending on skills and experience.

Paid Time Off or Vacation: We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with 3 weeks of paid vacation to use during your first year of employment. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours.
