Full Job Description
Collaborating with the Director, Data Design and the Global Wealth and Asset Management (GWAM) Enterprise Data Lake (EDL) Business Support teams, the Data Analyst (Retirement) will play a key role in supporting critical data initiatives and advancing data quality across GWAM and its business partners within the Retirement segment. This position supports the management and continuous improvement of the EDL, ensuring data is available, reliable, consistent, accessible, secure, and timely covering plan and product details as well as participant data. The successful candidate will leverage strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve data issues, support strategic business initiatives, enhance operational processes, and contribute to data governance and analytics capabilities across the organization. This opportunity provides exposure to enterprise-wide data management practices, modern cloud-based technologies, and collaboration with senior business and technical stakeholders within a global financial services environment.

Position Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee daily EDL production operations, ensuring data is available, reliable, consistent, secure, and timely as the single trusted source for GWAM.
  • Manage and improve data quality by identifying and resolving complex issues, enhancing monitoring frameworks and controls, and implementing common data standards and governance practices across the EDL.
  • Partner with Data Analytics, Data Governance, data engineering, operations, and business stakeholders to design, develop, and implement strategic data solutions and enterprise data initiatives.
  • Maintain and enhance data lineage, business glossaries, data catalogs, metadata, and enterprise data standards in collaboration with Data Governance teams.
  • Drive continuous improvement by automating and streamlining operational processes, developing dashboards and reports (e.g., in Power BI), and defining data quality KPIs, SLAs, and trend metrics.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, documentation, and training materials for key data management and data quality activities.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for key data domains, translating business requirements into technical solutions and bridging communication between business and technology teams.
  • Support and mentor junior analysts while contributing to best practices, standards, and knowledge sharing to advance data quality maturity.
  • Support organizational transformation by helping the business leverage data as a strategic asset that meets both business objectives and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • 4-7 years' experience in data quality, data management/governance, data operations, or related analytical roles, including operational process management and continuous improvement.
  • Proven hands-on SQL expertise (complex joins, performance tuning, large dataset analysis) for data investigation, analysis, and quality validation.
  • 2-3 years' experience with Azure Databricks or similar cloud-based data platforms.
  • 2-3 years' experience with Microsoft Power BI (reporting, dashboard development, data modeling, and visualization).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills with demonstrated ownership of issue resolution and process improvement.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear business language and gather requirements across business and technology teams.
  • Proven stakeholder management, influencing, and relationship-building capabilities to deliver effective data solutions.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Background in retirement services with direct experience working with plan, product, and participant data.
  • Experience managing large-scale, enterprise-wide operational or data processes, with a strong service orientation and customer-focused mindset, including direct engagement with senior leaders, and executive stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to constructively challenge the status quo, influence stakeholders, and drive change and process-automation initiatives using tools such as Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps) and AI assistants (e.g., Microsoft Copilot).
  • Advanced education and credentials, such as a Master's degree and/or relevant certifications in Data Management, Analytics, Azure, Project Management, or related disciplines.
  • Knowledge of the US and Canadian Retirement business domain is a key asset.
