The Data Analyst II, as a member of the Business Intelligence and Data Analytics team, analyzes and helps solve complex business problems using data and available resources to provide insight to decision-makers.
In this role, you will analyze trends in domain name usage, digital service activation and channel distribution dynamics. The role requires consistent communication across teams -- including Marketing, Account Management, Product Management, Finance, and Platform Engineering -- to translate between technical and behavior trends and end-user demand characteristics. Your work on the team will involve studying data trends and patterns to derive insights that support data-driven presentations with creative visualizations highlighting key trends.
Summary of key responsibilities:
- Evaluate extensive datasets leveraging large-scale data analysis platforms to explain how end users are utilizing domain names
- Create specifications for data acquisition to support exploration of emerging technologies impacting the global DNS
- Develop and maintain manual and automated processes to ensure data quality and integrity
- Research trends to support briefings, presentations, and reporting on business performance and progress relative to plans
- Support the formation of recommendations and strategic/tactical plans based on capturing relevant business metrics
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of progressively responsible, related business and/or data analysis experience
- Bachelor's degree in either Computer Science, Data Analytics or Business, or equivalent work experience, is required
- Experience performing data ETL, including designing data collection methods, data models, and transformation processes for relational databases (Oracle/SQL) and distributed data systems (such as Snowflake, Hadoop, Spark with scripting languages like Python)
- Strong Excel and SQL skills required, with hands-on experience with data visualization tooling (such as Tableau or similar tools)
- Strong analytic skills and the ability to share insights with peers
- Demonstrable planning and organization skills
This position is based in our Reston, VA office and offers a hybrid work schedule.
The pay range is $89,900 - $121,700.
The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is noted above, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience. Verisign offers a discretionary bonus which is based on individual and company performance, and certain roles may be eligible for discretionary stock awards.
