Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring fora Data Analyst to support Headquarters Air Force A2 with the design and implementation of a Zero Trust architecture. This position will be located at Langley AFB in Hampton, VAa and will be ana onsitea position.

Responsibilities

The Zero Trust Program supporting Headquarters Air Force A2 seeks a highly skilled Data Analyst to drive analytics, automation, and dataaddriven decisionadmaking across a largeadscale cybersecurity modernization effort. This role is central to advancing Zero Trust capabilities, improving threat detection, and enabling continuous verification across missionadcritical systems.

The ideal candidate blends deep analytical expertise with an understanding of cybersecurity, identity, and network security principles. You will work alongside architects, engineers, and mission stakeholders to transform raw data into actionable insights that strengthen the organization27s security posture.

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize data models, pipelines, and analytics frameworks supporting Zero Trust pillars (Identity, Devices, Network, Applications, Data, and Workloads).
  • Apply machine learning, statistical modeling, and behavioral analytics to detect anomalies, assess risk, and support continuous authentication and authorization.
  • Integrate data from diverse sources including identity systems, endpoint telemetry, network logs, SIEM/SOAR platforms, and cloud environments.
  • Build dashboards, metrics, and automated reporting to support compliance with Zero Trust maturity models and federal cybersecurity mandates.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to translate Zero Trust requirements into measurable data outputs.
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify gaps, trends, and opportunities for automation or improved security controls.
  • Support the development of predictive models that enhance threat detection and reduce false positives.
  • Ensure data quality, governance, and lineage across the Zero Trust data ecosystem.
  • Present findings to technical and nonadtechnical stakeholders, including senior leadership.
Qualifications

High School with 10+ years (or commensurate experience)

Required Skills and Experience

  • Clearance Required: TS/SCI
  • Military or government experience in operations and intelligence
  • Deep understanding of military operations, intelligence gathering (e.g., all-source, OSINT), and decision-making processes
  • Familiarity with Department of War, Intelligence Community, and interagency structures and policies
  • Strong problem-solving, data analysis, and critical thinking abilities
  • Knowledge of standard intelligence analysis tools and procedures
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), collaboration, and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience and knowledge with a Zero-Trust Architecture in a Department of War or Intelligence Community environment
  • Experience with content, processes, and procedures related to vendor and in-house developed applications
