ResponsibilitiesPeraton is seeking an experienced Data Analyst – Cyber Analytics professional to support our Federal Strategic Cyber (FSC) Program within the Cyber & Intelligence Sector.
Location: On-site in Arlington, VA.
In this role, you'll work with large-scale cybersecurity and operational datasets to uncover trends, identify emerging threats, and deliver insights that drive mission-critical decisions. You'll collaborate with cybersecurity engineers, threat analysts, and program leaders to transform complex data into meaningful intelligence that strengthens national security operations.

What You’ll Do:
- Analyze cybersecurity and operational datasets (e.g., network logs, authentication data, phishing activity, threat telemetry) to identify trends, anomalies, and patterns.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms to support operational and leadership reporting.
- Perform data extraction, validation, cleansing, transformation, and enrichment using Python (Pandas) and SQL.
- Support recurring reporting and analytics workflows by automating manual processes and improving data quality checks.
- Conduct exploratory data analysis to support operational monitoring, situational awareness, and decision-making.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity analysts and stakeholders to translate business and operational requirements into data-driven insights.
- Develop and maintain metrics related to cyber activity, authentication trends, phishing events, and external threat activity.
- Assist with identifying reporting gaps, data inconsistencies, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Document data sources, reporting methodologies, business rules, and analytical processes to support transparency and repeatability.
- Support ad hoc reporting requests and operational data analysis efforts.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and minimum 9 years experience; 7 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD.
- An additional four (4) years of experience may be substituted in lieu of the bachelors degree requirement.
- Must possess or be able to obtain one of the following certification before start date. Continued certification required as a condition of employment:
- CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CEH, CFR, CHFI, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), Cloud+, CND, CySA+, GCED, GCIH, GICSP, SSCP
- Experience using Python and Pandas for data analysis and transformation.
- Experience writing and troubleshooting SQL queries for data extraction and analysis.
- Experience building dashboards and reports using Power BI, Tableau, or similar visualization platforms.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity data sources such as SIEM, EDR/XDR, authentication logs, or network telemetry.
- Familiarity with supervised and unsupervised machine learning concepts and models.
- Ability to communicate analytical findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Active Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with Splunk, Microsoft Defender, Palo Alto Networks, or similar cybersecurity platforms.
- Familiarity with Databricks, PySpark, or large-scale data environments.
- Exposure to anomaly detection, trend analysis, statistical analysis, or machine learning applications.
- Experience supporting federal, DoD, or DoS environments.
- Experience automating recurring reporting or data processing workflows.
- Familiarity with leveraging AI tools, copilots, or basic agent-based workflows to automate or enhance data analysis, reporting, and operational tasks.
Target Salary Range$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
