Description

The Office of Inspector General, Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO), provides comprehensive IT services to approximately 2,000 end users across more than 60 global locations. OCIO oversees and sustains critical IT systems supporting the OIG mission, including database services, mobile device management, IT asset management, domain services, network operations, and service desk support. 

 

The Data/AI ServiceNow Engineer provides specialized ServiceNow engineering focused on enterprise data readiness, AI capability enablement, integrations, data quality, Workflow Data Fabric, and the technical foundations necessary to support Government‑approved AI capabilities. This role ensures the ServiceNow environment, data structures, and integrations are prepared to leverage modern AI features and emerging ServiceNow intelligence capabilities. 

 

Hybrid Work Schedule: This position offers a hybrid work schedule, providing flexibility to work both remotely and onsite based on business and team requirements. 

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering expertise for ServiceNow data, AI readiness, enterprise data quality, integrations, and AI‑related capabilities such as Now Assist. 
• Assess AI readiness across architecture, CSDM, CMDB, data structures, knowledge bases, integrations, security, access, and governance. 
• Identify AI readiness gaps, data quality issues, architectural dependencies, and technical prerequisites. 
• Configure, test, and support Government‑approved ServiceNow AI features (e.g., Now Assist for ITSM, Virtual Agent enhancements, GenAI capabilities). 
• Develop and maintain integrations and data pipelines required for AI workloads and enterprise data‑flow alignment. 
• Prepare platform data for AI use cases, including normalization, enrichment, governance, and model‑ready structuring. 
• Support Workflow Data Fabric, ServiceNow data architecture, and emerging enterprise data capabilities. 
• Evaluate new ServiceNow AI products and updates, assessing business value, risks, technical fit, and alignment with OIG mission needs. 
• Identify risks, governance considerations, and integration dependencies associated with AI implementations. 
• Develop AI capability roadmaps to guide platform evolution, adoption, and incremental readiness. 
• Support architecture, testing, release management, analysis, and knowledge transfer for data and AI capabilities. 
• Collaborate with architects, developers, cybersecurity teams, Government stakeholders, and enterprise contractors to ensure alignment and compliance. 

Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance. 

• IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE or equivalent). 

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data, IT, or related field.

• 6+ years of overall IT engineering, data engineering, or platform engineering experience. 

• 3+ years of experience in AI engineering, AI integration, or AI‑enabled workflow development. 

• 2+ years of experience with ServiceNow data, IntegrationHub, AI/Now Assist, or equivalent platform capabilities. 

• Strong understanding of ServiceNow data modeling, CSDM, CMDB, integration patterns, and workflow automation. 

• Experience supporting enterprise data readiness, AI enablement activities, or advanced ServiceNow capabilities. 

• Knowledge of security controls, governance, data‑quality practices, and enterprise integration architectures. 

• Strong communication skills and ability to translate technical data concepts and AI requirements into actionable engineering work. 

• Preferred Qualifications 

• ServiceNow certifications such as CSA, CAD, IntegrationHub, AI‑related micro‑certifications, or data‑focused certifications. 

• Experience applying ServiceNow AI/Now Assist in federal or DoD environments. 

• Experience with data governance, enterprise integrations, and workflow intelligence. 

• Familiarity with ServiceNow Workflow Data Fabric, Generative AI capabilities, and emerging AI platform features. 

• Scripting (JavaScript), Flow Designer, and IntegrationHub experience.
