Summary:

The Data & AI Product Discovery Designer is responsible for driving early-stage and continuous product discovery initiatives that de-risk and accelerate value delivery. This role partners closely with the Data & AI product, engineering, analytics, and architecture teams to ensure our Data & AI solutions are deeply informed by user insights, technical feasibility, and business objectives. The Designer's work directly supports our commitment to building products that customers love and that deliver measurable business outcomes.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Leads user interviews, usability studies, contextual research, and validation experiments to de-risk product decisions across value, usability, and feasibility.
  • Rapidly creates and iterates on low- to mid-fidelity prototypes, concept sketches, storyboards, and interaction flows to quickly test hypotheses and gather feedback before development.
  • Develops and maintains user personas, journey maps, workflow diagrams, and experience models to inform design and product strategy.
  • Supports dual-track discovery and delivery, working in parallel with engineering and product teams to continuously inform decisions, frame problems, and drive ideation.
  • Facilitates co-creation sessions with users, subject matter experts, and business partners to uncover needs and generate innovative solutions.
  • Synthesizes research data, identifies patterns, and produces actionable insights and recommendations for the product team.
  • Defines and tracks metrics for desirability, usability, and early indicators of business value.
  • Collaborates closely with Data & AI product, engineering, analytics, and architecture teams to ensure alignment and shared understanding.
  • Maintains up-to-date research documentation, prototypes, repositories, and design standards to support knowledge sharing and consistency.
  • Ensures all solutions meet accessibility, compliance, and technical feasibility requirements, including data constraints and system limitations.
  • Continuously improves discovery practices based on feedback, outcomes, and emerging best practices.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5+ years in UX research, product discovery, product design, or human-centered design.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience required.
  • Experience with tools such as ADO, Jira, Confluence, and other agile project management and collaboration tools is highly desirable
  • Strong research, synthesis, prototyping, and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Miro, Lovable, React).
  • Ability to communicate findings clearly and influence product decisions.
  • Comfort working with ambiguity and framing problems before solutions.
  • Knowledge of the Product Operating Model, bias for action, and a passion to build products customers love that work for the business.
