This position requires an active Top Secret/SCI clearance.

Summary:

Cherokee Insights is seeking a Cybersecurity Specialist - Mid to support the Behavioral Threat Analysis Center (BTAC). The Cybersecurity Specailist will provide to review, identify, and develop specific intervention and prevention strategies to network and enterprise security across the spectrum of insider threat. Must have an active TS/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities:
• Perform analysis and apply "best practices" and security methodologies to information systems.
• Interface with all necessary levels of Depart of War (DoW) Insider Threat (InT) Management and Analysis Center (DITMAC) management and staff.
• Support forensic analysis of digital information.
• Provide recommendations for threat-appropriate countermeasures on information systems.
• Lead planning and designing security solutions and capabilities that enable the DoW to identify, protect, detect, respond, and recover from cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
• Apply state of the art technical or industry knowledge to work on advanced, complex technical cyber security projects.
• Design action plans for policy creation and governance, system hardening, monitoring, incident response, disaster recovery, and emerging cybersecurity threats.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Compensation & Benefits:

Starting Salary Range for Cybersecurity Specialist - Mid: $185,000 - $215,000

Basic Qualifications:
• Have a minimum of ten (10) years of experience advising security professionals on emerging cyber threats
• Working knowledge of classified and unclassified systems and Government/Industry standards/requirements.
• Risk/Vulnerability/Threat Assessments
• Cloud Security
• Security Operations
• Threat Intelligence
• Threat Hunting
• Experience in assisting counterintelligence, insider threat, or law enforcement investigations.
• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
• Experience advising non-IT professionals on DoW network standards to facilitate the effective deployment of insider threat tools.
• Strong coordination skills to work with a wide range of organizations and promote uncommon technical solutions to facilitate mission requirements.
• Understanding of DOW/IC computer systems, protections, and threats.
• Knowledge of both offensive and defensive cyber capabilities.
• Knowledge of User Activity Monitoring (UAM) software and processes.
• Firewall (FW)/Intrusion Prevention System (IPS)/Intrusion Detection System (IDS) Configuration

Additional Qualifications:
• Must have a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.

• This position requires an active Top Secret/SCI clearance.

• Must have at least eight (8) years of experience working within the DoW/IC.
• Expertise in at least one of the following functional areas:

• Penetration Testing
• Forensics

• Demonstrated knowledge of state, local and federal cyber trends, developments, standards, frameworks, and regulations in cybersecurity and impact to operations.
• Must be a US Citizen.
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer; may occasionally require standing or moving about the office for extended periods.
• Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.

Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Must have a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
