Full Job Description
MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Cyber Systems Engineer to join our team! This is a hybrid position with two days a week onsite in Washington, D.C.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Advise DHS program managers on planning and executing complex IT systems engineering activities, ensuring cybersecurity and cyber resilience are integrated throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Support a wide range of programs from new software development, modernization in place, and integration of existing software systems, and non-IT programs that contain IT elements.
  • Evaluate IT solution architectures for alignment with industry best practices, the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF), and DHS policies (including DHS 4300A).
  • Develop strategic technical recommendations and risk-management strategies by conducting technology maturity assessments, technical reviews, artifact analyses, and business process evaluations.
  • Create and provide feedback on program plans, including operational and system requirements, technology roadmaps, conceptual architecture, and transition strategies. Conduct analytical studies to evaluate solution trade spaces, including formal trade studies, cost/performance trade analyses, and feasibility analyses.
  • Participate as a team member in conducting independent Technical Assessments of Acquisition Programs as a Cyber SME by analyzing technical artifacts, identifying sources of technical risk, and assisting the program to develop and implement risk mitigation plans.
  • Lead and participate in cyber activities such as Cyber Table Top (CTT) Exercises, Cooperative Vulnerability and Penetration Assessments (CVPAs), and Adversarial Assessments (AAs). Interfacing with Headquarters offices to communicate program status, risks, and issues.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree and at least 7 years experience is required.
  • Technical and/or Cybersecurity experience, such as evaluating the cybersecurity and cyber resilience of IT programs, conducting technological maturity assessments, conducting technical reviews, managing technical risk, and developing requirements.
  • Experience developing and evaluating solution architectures and applying policies such as NIST RMF and DHS Policy.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to effectively collaborate in team environments.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience leading cyber exercises such as CTTs, CVPAs, and AAs.
  • DHS and/or DoW experience.


Clearance Requirements:
  • Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a DHS Suitability prior to starting this position.


Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to be in a stationary position more than 50% of the time.
  • Must be able to communicate, converse, and exchange information with peers and senior personnel.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a computer.


The projected compensation range for this position is $104,200.00-$172,900.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
