Description

The ideal candidate will be a Cyber Lead to manage and guide cybersecurity professionals supporting Federal Government IT programs. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, broad cybersecurity expertise, and experience overseeing cybersecurity engineering, assessments, vulnerability management, application security, threat modeling, risk management, and compliance activities. As a valued member of the SFI team, you will play a critical role in delivering mission-critical capabilities to our Federal Government customers.

Work Location: Hybrid, On-site - Arlington, VA

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a team of cybersecurity engineers, analysts, and subject matter experts, providing direction, mentorship, workload management, and performance oversight.
  • Serve as the primary cyber point of contact for program leadership, government stakeholders, system owners, ISSOs, development teams, and operations teams.
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee cybersecurity activities, including security engineering, vulnerability assessments, threat modeling, cyber audits, application security testing, security control assessments, and continuous monitoring.
  • Ensure cybersecurity work products are delivered with high quality, accuracy, and alignment with federal requirements, program priorities, and contract deliverables.
  • Provide technical leadership and review for cybersecurity documentation, including assessment reports, security architectures, risk analyses, POA&Ms, remediation plans, and executive summaries.
  • Support RMF and ATO activities by coordinating security control implementation, assessment readiness, findings remediation, and stakeholder communications.
  • Guide the team in applying cybersecurity frameworks and best practices, including NIST SP 800-53, NIST RMF, Zero Trust principles, OWASP guidance, and DevSecOps practices.
  • Track team performance, cybersecurity metrics, risks, issues, and operational status, and report progress to program and customer leadership.
  • Identify resource needs, process improvements, training opportunities, and technical standards to strengthen cybersecurity delivery across the program.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
  • 8 years of cybersecurity experience, including 3 years leading or managing cybersecurity teams or technical workstreams.
  • Demonstrated expertise in: Cybersecurity leadership, security engineering, risk management, vulnerability management, security assessments, compliance, stakeholder communication, and team delivery.
  • Experience supporting cybersecurity activities within the Federal Government, DoD, or similarly regulated environments.
  • Experience leading technical teams and coordinating delivery across cybersecurity, development, operations, and program management stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with federal cybersecurity frameworks, standards, and processes, including NIST SP 800-53, RMF, ATO support, POA&M management, and continuous monitoring.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must possess an active Secret security clearance or be able to obtain one.

Desired Skills:
  • CISSP, CISM, CISA, CAP, PMP, Security+, or equivalent cybersecurity, risk management, or leadership certification.
  • Experience leading cybersecurity teams within DoD or federal agency programs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to brief technical and non-technical stakeholders on cybersecurity risks, priorities, and remediation progress.
