Cx Owner's Representative - Retro-CommissioningSummaryWe are seeking a Cx Owner's Representative to provide testing and validation oversight for electrical and mechanical infrastructure in existing operational data centers. This role will support vendors, contractors, and internal teams throughout retro-commissioning projects, with a focus on testing, documentation, technical issue resolution, and minimizing disruption to operational facilities.
The Cx Owner's Representative will manage multiple projects, coordinate third-party commissioning vendors, review technical documentation, and provide multidisciplinary input into project scheduling, test scripts, design, and planning.
Key Responsibilities- Provide testing and validation oversight for electrical and mechanical infrastructure in operational data centers.
- Support retro-commissioning of systems including:
- Medium and low voltage power systems
- Generators and UPS
- HVAC, air handlers, exhaust fans, and VFDs
- Chilled water systems
- BMS and EPMS
- Testing and balancing
- Pumps and hydronic systems
- Review as-built documentation, equipment submittals, drawings, specifications, and sequences of operation.
- Manage third-party commissioning vendors during onsite functional and integrated systems testing.
- Review commissioning test plans, scripts, and reports for accuracy and alignment with design requirements.
- Provide input into scheduling, test script development, design, and planning for retro-commissioning projects.
- Audit commissioning vendor activities to ensure compliance with environmental, quality, and safety requirements.
- Identify and resolve technical issues while addressing schedule and coordination impacts.
- Provide regular progress and metrics reporting to the Regional Commissioning Manager.
- Lead multiple projects simultaneously and manage approved project budgets.
- Share lessons learned to support team growth and program improvements.
Required Skills & Qualifications- 5+ years of experience in engineering, installation, startup, or commissioning of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or 5 years of relevant discipline experience.
- High technical competency in mechanical, electrical, or control systems used in critical infrastructure.
- Ability to learn and develop knowledge across other technical disciplines.
- Ability to review mechanical and electrical design documentation and understand design concepts and intent.
- Experience reviewing drawings, specifications, vendor submittals, and sequences of operation.
- Experience developing or reviewing commissioning documentation, including test plans, scripts, and reports.
- Ability to read and edit construction documents, design drawings, control diagrams, and specifications.
- Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in high-stress environments while coordinating with multiple teams.
Preferred Qualifications- Advanced Microsoft Office Suite experience, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Advanced SharePoint or similar platform experience.
- Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems for critical infrastructure.
- Experience developing and executing test procedures for mechanical or electrical systems/components based on design intent and approved equipment submittals.
Top 3 Must-Have Skills- Electrical, Mechanical, or Controls Systems Experience - Strong technical competency in at least one discipline supporting critical infrastructure.
- Commissioning & Testing - Experience reviewing or executing commissioning documentation, test procedures, and functional/integrated systems testing.
- Technical Documentation & Design Review - Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, submittals, sequences of operation, and other construction/design documentation.
