Job DescriptionResponsible for assisting physicians to perform invasive cardiology and
radiology procedures; scrubbing and maintaining sterile field; monitoring and
documenting procedures in interventional procedural lab.
Responsible for hemodynamic monitoring and EKG interpretation, documentation
during interventional procedures
Performs post procedure care and vascular access site management including arterial
and venous sheath removal and closure device utilization
Operates, troubleshoots, maintains and performs quality control on all equipment used
in lab, including imaging systems/fluoroscopy
Maintains supply inventory.
Other duties as assigned and vary within Atlantic Health site specific
Principal Accountabilities:1. Assists physicians with cardiac catheterization, pacemaker/IABP insertion and diagnostic and interventional peripheral vascular procedures in the Cardiac Cath. Lab.
2. Performs post procedure care/groin management including arterial and venous sheath removal.
3. Operates, troubleshoots, maintains and performs quality control on radiologic equipment.
4. Maintains supply inventory.
5. Other duties as assigned
QualificationsMinimum Education:- Graduate of an Accredited CVT School with RCIS certification (or obtaining within 1-year of hire) OR licensed Radiology Technologist.
- Radiology Technologists will be provided a six month training and support.
- To provide a safe environment for our patients, we require that all candidates must be able to read, write and speak English.
Minimum Experience:- Minimum 1-2 years previous Cath Lab experience preferred.
License/Certification:- RCIS/RCVT experience required OR licensed Radiology Technologist.
- BLS required:
- Obtain ACLS within one year.
- Adheres to on-call policy requirements and responds appropriately to emergency calls per unit policy.
