What You Will Do:- Own the CIS Solution Blueprint: customer data model, SA structure, rate design, billing cycle, meter-to-cash workflow, and collections/dunning
- Define bill calculation architecture: billing determinants, proration rules, budget billing algorithms, estimation logic, and exception handling
- Lead Fit-Gap workshops across Customer Ops, Revenue Mgmt, Metering, IT, and Regulatory Affairs
- Govern configuration standards; conduct peer reviews of configuration workbooks and functional design documents
- Translate regulatory tariff schedules (TOU, tiered rates, demand charges, NEM 3.0, CARE/FERA, budget billing) into implementable rate configurations
- Author test scripts for billing cycle, SIT, and UAT; lead bill calculation regression testing across rate schedule portfolios
- Design AMI/MDM integration: interval data ingestion, VEE triggers, register reconciliation, connect/disconnect dispatch
- Define cutover data load sequence and reconciliation controls balancing to legacy system totals
- Architect CIS integrations: OMS, GIS, IVR, customer portal, payment processing, and ERP/GL financial posting
- Lead a team of 4-10 CIS functional consultants and integration specialists across design, build, test, and deploy
- Own customer data migration strategy from legacy CIS: master data, billing/payment history, and open AR balance cutover
- Design role-based training and produce knowledge transfer materials for CSRs, billing analysts, and metering staff
- Support CIS business development and capture activities
What You Will Need:- Bachelors degree with a MINIMUM of TEN (10) years of CIS consulting or utility technology experience, and a MINIMUM of FIVE (5) years in CIS solution architecture or functional delivery leadership. Experience is SAP CIS is highly preferred
- Demonstrated CIS data migration leadership: customer master, billing history, and open AR balance migration from legacy platforms
- At least TWO (2) full-lifecycle CIS implementations at electric, gas, or water utilities as lead architect or functional lead
- CIS integration architecture experience with 2+ of: MDM, AMI head-end, OMS, customer portal, IVR, or ERP/GL
- Hands-on configuration experience: SAP IS-U / S/4HANA Utilities OR Oracle CC&B / CCS (C2M) - deep expertise in at least one platform required
- Deep knowledge of utility meter-to-cash process: read acquisition 12 VEE 12 bill calc 12 invoice 12 payment 12 collections 12 write-off
- Direct experience designing complex utility rate structures: TOU, NEM, demand charges, budget billing, and income-qualified program rates
What Would Be Nice To Have:- SAP Certified Associate - SAP for Utilities (IS-U) or S/4HANA Utilities
- Experience with legacy source CIS platforms: Cayenta, Infor Hansen, Cogsdale, Banner, or custom mainframe billing systems
- Oracle Utilities Implementation Specialist (CC&B or C2M)
- Salesforce Energy & Utilities Cloud as CRM layer integrated with SAP or Oracle CIS backends
- Dual-platform experience (SAP + Oracle) - strong differentiator for migration programs
- EV charging program billing, NEM 3.0, prepay metering, or community solar subscriber management
- SAP BRIM / Convergent Invoicing for multi-commodity or subscription billing
- PCI-DSS and customer PII / data security compliance requirements in utility CIS environments
- Oracle C2M cloud deployment (OCI SaaS) configuration experience
- NERC CIP / NIST CSF awareness for CIS systems within or adjacent to the utility control network
The annual salary range for this position is $162,000.00-$270,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
