Job Description:
The Customer Analyst is responsible for providing comprehensive analytical and operational support to the Mars Snacking All Other Value customer team. Customers supported include Ollie's, Save A Lot, Variety Wholesale, and Grocery Outlet. This role delivers critical reporting, analysis, and business insights that support achievement of revenue growth, profitability, assortment optimization, forecast accuracy, trade investment management, deduction resolution, pricing initiatives, and ad hoc business needs across both core and seasonal product portfolios.
The Customer Sales Analyst develops a strong understanding of annual business planning processes, customer strategies, and company objectives. By leveraging data, analytics, and cross-functional collaboration, this role enables informed decision-making and supports execution of customer business objectives.


Key Responsibilities

Reporting & Analytics

Develop, maintain, and continuously improve reporting processes and analytical tools using Mars Snacking systems, including Power BI, Salesforce, High Radius, Nielsen, and customer-specific portal data and systems.

Key responsibilities include:
• Customer Authorization List management and maintenance
• Weekly Sales Reporting (Bump Chart)
• Gross Sales Value (GSV) and sales performance reporting
• Deduction tracking, management, and resolution
• Trade spend tracking and reporting
• IBP Tracker and Monthly Business Trend reporting
• Trade event entry and maintenance support (Large $ LTA events only)
• Monthly Customer Business Review support
• Partnership on Ad hoc reporting and analysis with sales team

Business Insights & Decision Support
• Analyze data from multiple sources to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and actionable insights
• Create and deliver reports that support customer team decision-making and business performance
• Support the development of customer solutions that deliver value for both Mars Snacking and the customer

Process Improvement
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting efficiency, and data accuracy
• Lead or support projects that enhance business performance and enable faster, more effective decision-making
• Recommend process enhancements that prevent issues, improve execution, and drive business growth

Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Serve as a communication link & partner between internal stakeholders and customer team.
• Build collaborative relationships across the sales organization and supporting functions.
• Represent the customer team in internal meetings and customer-facing discussions, as appropriate. (role will attend majority of CLRs, T2Ts, JBP meetings)

Operational Support
• Support key sales operations activities, including deductions management, bill clearing, and post-audit administration
• Assist with trade investment tracking and reconciliation activities
• Provide support for planning meetings, project commitments, and budget management activities

Technical Expertise
• Develop and maintain expertise in available business systems, reporting tools, and data sources
• Utilize resources such as Nielsen, customer specific POS data, Power BI, and other analytical platforms to deliver meaningful insights and recommendations
• Stay current on reporting capabilities and best practices to improve business support and analytical effectiveness

Qualifications & Skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to convert data into clear reports and actionable recommendations
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and business intelligence/reporting tools
• Experience working with Power BI, Salesforce, Nielsen, HighRadius, customer POS systems, or similar platforms preferred
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills
• Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on efficiency and business impact

The Customer Sales Analyst will be measured on their ability to:

Location

Position is remote with location east of the Mississippi River required with Chicago or Cincinnati hub preferred

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is between the below range, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, if eligible, including variable pay & general allowances (depending on the position and employee's work schedule). Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable policies and plans then in effect, and depending on the position offered and the employee's work schedule (i.e., part-time schedule), eligible employees are automatically enrolled in a 401(k) plan, as well as participate in Company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance plans for the employee and the employee's eligible dependents, and may be eligible to take up to 18 weeks of paid parental leave. Employees will also receive the following paid-time off (which may be prorated based on start date and the employee's work schedule): 120 hours of vacation per year, paid sick time for eligible Associates of 100% pay continuation for a maximum of 40 hours per calendar year, and 12 paid holidays throughout the calendar year that include both fixed and flexible holidays.
