Akicita Federal is hiring a Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist to deliver high-quality diagnostic imaging services for the Indian Health Service at the Phoenix Indian Medical Center (PIMC) in Phoenix, AZ. In this role, you will perform CT examinations that directly support diagnosis and care for patients from multiple Native American communities. - Independently perform CT examinations on a Canon Aquilion Prime SP2000 160-slice scanner using the Bayer Medrad Flex Injector for contrast administration.
- Verify patient identity, review examination orders, and prepare and position patients safely prior to each scan.
- Apply patient-safety and radiation-safety practices consistent with Image Gently and Image Wisely standards.
- Review acquired images for appropriate technical quality before completing each examination.
- Perform plain-film or digital radiography examinations as required within the scope of services.
- Document all services accurately and on the date of service using PIMC information systems including RPMS, EHR, and PACS.
- Comply with PIMC infection-control, privacy, and patient-care policies and promptly report any patient-safety incidents per facility procedures.
$145,600 - $156,000 a year
- Minimum 1 year of experience performing Digital Radiography services.
- Current ARRT certification in both Radiography and Computed Tomography.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Completion of Image Gently and Image Wisely training (as applicable).
- Ability to satisfy PIMC employee-health requirements prior to start, including TB screening, MMR, varicella, and Hepatitis B documentation, and seasonal influenza vaccination.
- Ability to pass a federal background investigation, fingerprinting, and facility-badging requirements for access to an IHS facility and information systems.
- Physical capability to perform the essential functions of CT imaging services, including patient positioning and equipment operation.
What sets candidates apart:
- Experience operating a Canon Aquilion or similar high-slice-count CT scanner in a hospital or medical center setting.
- Familiarity with contrast-injection systems, particularly the Bayer Medrad Flex Injector.
- Prior experience working in a federal healthcare environment such as IHS, VA, or DoD medical facilities.
- Experience documenting in RPMS, federal EHR platforms, or PACS systems.
- Demonstrated ability to perform across all three shifts in a 24/7 clinical imaging department.
