CT Technologist
Shift Details: Monday - Friday | 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM EST | On-call/callback, holidays, and occasional weekends
Duties and Responsibilities
- Confirm patient identity and exam verification prior to initiating the scan, strictly adhering to department policy and procedure for patient safety
- Coordinate with physicians to provide diagnostic imaging
- Prepare patients for scans and explain the procedure to help them feel comfortable
- Insert IVs when necessary for the test
- Position patients accordingly, which may include lifting or moving patients with limited mobility; must utilize safe patient handling
- Maintain accurate patient record keeping by properly documenting all necessary components within EPIC, including identifying images and assuring images are sent to the PACS system correctly upon exam completion
- Maintain a clean and safe scanning facility
Requirements
- Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology
- Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- NYS licensure (must be obtained prior to starting position)
- HCPs currently registered in NYS will be required to have injection therapy certification stated on their license at time of submission
- Minimum two (2) years of CT experience
- Level 1 Trauma Center experience
- BLS certification (American Heart Association only)
- Telemetry
Preferred Qualifications
- Injection certification preferred - must be willing to complete during orientation process
- Knowledge of Philips and Siemens equipment preferred
