Basic FunctionHF Sinclair is seeking a Crude Representative in Dallas, TX. In this role, you will conduct in-depth analysis of Global Crude Oil markets, with a focus on North America. You will make recommendations to Crude Oil Traders on trading positions and pricing strategies, while contributing to the development of functional strategy and leads others to resolve unique problems.
Job Duties- Works closely with Crude Traders to develop trading strategies.
- Builds consensus on strategy and recommends best practices to improve gross margin for Crude Oil Supply and Trading.
- Works independently and keeps management informed while operating within authorized parameters.
- Cooperates with company entities to identify, negotiate and implement commercial opportunities.
- Recommends purchase and sale contracts to maximize margin related to pricing differentials and asset backed trading.
- Recommends transportation agreements and transportation strategies for crude oil as needed.
- Monitors purchases and determines growth opportunities.
- Evaluates market options through various industry periodicals and marketing companies.
- Interprets internal/external business challenges and recommends best practices for improvement.
- Reviews purchased crude oil volumes and pipeline transportation invoices. Reconciles volumes and invoices for Customs reporting.
- Provides purchase and transportation agreement administration for various marketing and transport companies.
- Maintains and reviews pipeline rate and rules tariffs as they relate to each facility.
Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.
ExperienceA minimum of 2 years of experience in either commodity marketing, scheduling or analysis in the petroleum industry.
Preferred Experience
Crude oil or other commodity purchasing, trading, scheduling, negotiating and selling experience preferred. Strong working knowledge for North American crude oil markets preferred.
Education LevelA minimum of a Bachelor's degree, preferably in business, engineering or a technical related field, is required.
Required SkillsSelf-starter with drive and ability to achieve planned objectives. Strong creative, interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to create mutual respect with peers and a positive work environment, perform a variety of assignments as related to assigned product, and multi-task. Working knowledge of Microsoft products and general SAP end user experience. Excellent computer skills. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with others, in both written and verbal communication. Ability to communicate difficult concepts and negotiate with others to adopt a different point of view. Working understanding of supply and distribution.

Work ConditionsOffice based with travel required up to 20% by land or air. Subject to varying road and weather conditions.
