Full Job Description
What this job involves - We are seeking an experienced and technically proficient electrician to support the mission-critical Research & Development (R&D) laboratories of our SBA campus. This portfolio includes a diverse range of environments, from low-level bench labs to highly critical cleanroom spaces dedicated to microprocessor and data chip performance testing.

This pivotal role is a hands-on technician position focused on supporting all the electrical infrastructure that supports our critical spaces. The Critical Environment Electrician will operate under the supervision of the Lead Electrician to ensure all sensitive lab operations electrical needs are met.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct routine and ongoing assessments of the building systems' operations, performing tests, rounds, and analyzing data to ensure the proper functioning of lab related equipment. Monitor the operation of the mechanical/electrical operating equipment and plan and layout work details in the assembly, installation, testing, maintenance, and repair of various electrical apparatus, control equipment, and wiring used in industrial light and power distribution systems.
  • Perform troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems including single- and three-phase systems up to 480V, lighting systems, panels, branch circuits, and motor controls at a large R&D Lab facility.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematic drawings, plan and organize work, and interact with clients and maintenance staff to determine the best approach to completing assignments safely and in an environmentally compliant manner.
  • The incumbent will operate under the supervision and direction of the Lead Electrician.
  • Understanding of backup power systems, including large scale UPS , changeover switch-gear.
  • Experience with emergency power distribution at panel level. Understanding and mitigating static electricity in a laboratory environment for sensitive electronics.
  • Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance on interior/exterior lighting systems, emergency lighting, EXIT signage, electrical distribution panels, and motor equipment.
  • Run conduit, pull wire, and terminate circuits in compliance with NEC standards while installing new electrical feeds for equipment and renovated spaces.
  • Complete work orders in JLL's CMMS platform, documenting labor, materials, and repair details accurately to meet established Service Level Agreements
  • Replace lamps, ballasts, drivers, breakers, and other electrical components while escalating complex issues as appropriate.
  • Provide cross-trade support including light plumbing, HVAC assistance, and general facility repairs while supporting installation of pumps, motors, and related equipment.
  • Be a part of the response team for any unplanned emergencies.
  • Ensure strict compliance with National Electrical Code (NEC), OSHA standards, and JLL safety policies including proper Lockout/Tagout procedures.


SKILLS:
  • Familiarity with motor controls and VFDs
  • Understand critical power distribution within raised floor environments

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
  • Valid Electrical License - (Journeyman or equivalent)
  • 3+ years of commercial or industrial electrical experience with working knowledge of NEC requirements
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical distribution systems and lighting systems with ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and drawings
  • Experience working within a CMMS-driven maintenance environment with strong understanding of electrical safety procedures
  • Multi-trade maintenance experience with cross-functional facility support capabilities
  • Physical ability to climb ladders, operate scissor lifts up to 20 feet, and lift up to 50 lbs

Estimated compensation for this position:

100,000.00 - 140,000.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
