About the Role

The Data Management Associate supports the Credit Research department by maintaining high-quality data that underpins research, reporting, and firmwide decision-making. This role helps ensure ratings and inventory information is accurate, consistent, and timely by performing data entry, validation, and ongoing monitoring across multiple research teams. The position partners closely with analysts, directors, Compliance, and Technology to resolve discrepancies, improve processes, and deliver reliable reports and ad hoc analysis. Success requires strong attention to detail, clear communication, and the ability to prioritize competing requests in a deadline-driven environment.

About the Team

The Loomis Sayles credit research team prides itself in providing independent views and forward-looking assessments of credit risk and potential investment opportunities. The team thinks beyond rating agencies when performing research and values unique ideas and perspectives. Research coverage spans the broad credit spectrum across investment grade, high yield and bank loans in developed and emerging markets. Credit recommendations combine rigorous bottom-up fundamental analysis, structural risk assessment, and relative value-based insights. Credit research analysts are integrated into sector teams that offer market and research insight through the collaboration of portfolio managers, strategists, analysts, and traders.

Job Responsibilities
  • Responsible for managing ratings data of several research teams
  • Monitor and make recommendations of changes to analysts' inventory
  • Prepare and publish various reports to the firm
  • Liaise with compliance and technology teams within Loomis Sayles as necessary
  • Provide ad hoc reports for the managers of Credit Research
  • Back-up to other data management staff and research assistants


Qualifications & Education Requirements

  • Interest in a detail-oriented position
  • Strong academic credentials including an undergraduate degree
  • Fixed Income experience is a plus
  • Professional presence and the ability to generate respect across the organization
  • Proficient with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with sourcing/manipulating information pulled from internal databases, reports, and applications
  • Exceptional communication skills - both verbal and written
  • The ability to be a self-starter, capable of monitoring and meeting deadlines, while also ensuring accuracy
  • A positive approach, a flexible attitude and a sense of humor


Additional Requirements

The position follows a hybrid schedule with two days work from home and three days work from office.

Loomis Sayles is committed to offering competitive and equitable compensation. The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $100,000 USD. Your starting salary will be based on your experience, skills, qualifications and local benchmarking. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual incentive award, which is based on individual and company performance.
