Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Credit Analyst III/ IV to join our Visalia Business Banking Center! The position of Credit Analyst III/IV ('CA III/IV') is responsible for analyzing credit information on current and potential borrowers. The CA III/IV manages a portfolio of existing loans for the Bank and identifies new lending opportunities within the current portfolio. The CA III/ IV analyzes and reviews the creditworthiness of granting credit for diversified types of loans; assists Relationship Managers in underwriting loan requests; promotes business for the Bank by maintaining good customer relations and referring customers to appropriate staff for new services. The CA III/IV assures compliance with all Bank policies and procedures, as well as, all applicable state and federal banking regulations.
Responsibilities include, but are limited to, the following:
- Independently manage a loan portfolio and a customer base.
- Responsible for servicing a variety of types of business loans in an assigned portfolio.
- Assists Relationship Managers ('RMs') in performing pre-qualification assessment and analysis of financial condition and risk of financing requests within framework of Bank credit culture and current economic and industry trends.
- Prepares spreadsheets and analyzes financial information including financial statements and tax returns.
- Compiles data from credit bureaus, conducts industry peer comparisons, and performs cash flow analyses and other such tasks and comparisons.
- Underwrite loan requests for RM review; makes recommendation on loan structures and terms to loan officers.
- Perform the review and renewal of credit facilities, and annual loan reviews of term loan customers to determine that current risk grades are still accurate.
- Mentor support staff and peers and leverage your knowledge to aid in their development by proactively coaching.
- Provide direct assistance to Regional Presidents, Division Manager and/or RMs, and accompanying on customer calls, as needed.
- Attends training and maintains a basic knowledge of procedures to ensure compliance with laws and regulations, with an emphasis on the BSA/AML/CIP.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience and SkillsMinimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) and four-five+ years of direct lending experience or equivalent combination.
- Possess a strong customer service orientation, and a willingness to place the customer first.
- Possess strong written/verbal communication skills as well as excellent organizational/time management skills.
- Working knowledge of credit risk principles, loan documentation, and regulatory expectations.
- Experience with nCino or similar loan origination/credit systems preferred.
- Proficient in Excel.
- Detail oriented.
- Strong ability to analyze and synthesize large amounts of data.
- Possess strong written/verbal communication skills as well as excellent organizational/time management skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision while performing duties.
Target Compensation: $78,143 - $121,318 annually, depending on experience.
