Position Summary

As a Credit Analyst III, you will play a key role in the Bank's commercial credit underwriting process, partnering with lenders and departments across the organization to evaluate complex commercial lending relationships and support sound credit decisions. This role requires strong analytical skills, sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to navigate a fast-paced environment while balancing multiple priorities.

This full-time, in-person position is based in our downtown Austin office (600 West 5th Street) and provides the opportunity to apply your expertise in financial analysis, credit risk assessment, and regulatory compliance while contributing to a collaborative, high-performing Credit team.

WHAT WILL I DO?

Key responsibilities include:

  • Analyze complex financial information to evaluate the creditworthiness of prospective and existing commercial borrowers, supporting sound lending decisions.
  • Prepare financial spreads, credit analyses, and presentations for management and senior lending staff, clearly communicating credit risks and recommendations.
  • Review loan risk ratings, credit packages, and loan structures to ensure compliance with the Bank's Loan Policy, risk rating methodology, and underwriting standards.
  • Identify credit strengths, weaknesses, and emerging risks, providing independent analysis and recommendations to support quality credit decisions.
  • Complete annual credit reviews and ongoing portfolio monitoring for assigned lending relationships.
  • Partner with lenders and other departments to provide timely credit analysis and responsive support throughout the underwriting process.
  • Maintain effective verbal and written communication while delivering exceptional service to internal and external customers.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, enhance efficiency, and strengthen the Bank's credit underwriting practices.
  • Other duties as assigned and/or taken on.

Specific requirements include:

  • Minimum: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or another related field and 3+ years of direct industry experience in commercial credit, especially commercial real estate & banking C&I; or the equivalent combination of education and experience, which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job duties of this position.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing commercial financial statements, tax returns, cash flow, collateral, and repayment capacity.
  • Strong understanding of commercial credit underwriting principles, credit policy, and regulatory expectations.
  • Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate credit recommendations.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.


Desired qualifications:

  • Experience using CASH Suite or similar commercial credit analysis software.
  • Community banking experience.
