Full Job Description
About the role

AppLovin is one of the largest and fastest-growing ad platforms in the world. The brands growing on it span from the majority of major mobile game studios, to ecommerce brands that went from $4M to $80M in revenue in the span of a year - with most of their media spend on AppLovin.

We want to tell those stories, and others like them: a single parent whose side-hustle ecommerce business is finally taking off, a pet brand with a quirky founder who found their niche.

You'll work within the growth marketing team to identify which client stories are worth telling, build the narrative, plan and execute the shoot (this role involves real travel), and edit the footage into something human, artful, and authentic. You'll also partner closely with the Design team to translate our brand identity and values into a distinctive visual language across your productions, helping shape the art direction, look and feel, and overall visual execution of the final work.
What you'll do
  • Find the story and bring it to life. Research clients, brands, and results - not just the performance numbers, but whether there's something worth watching
  • Make real people compelling on camera. Plan and conduct (or direct) interviews that feel like conversations, not Q&As, and find the moment inside a result or a founder's story that builds an emotional connection.
  • Own production end to end - pre-production, shoot, edit, delivery. Run the shoot yourself on smaller projects; brief and direct a production crew when the scale calls for it.
  • Build the system, not just the videos. Create a repeatable production cadence that keeps client stories moving from intake to final cut without the process becoming the bottleneck.
What we're looking for
  • You think in stories, not just shots. Your first instinct is the narrative - you know what makes a person or brand's story worth telling and what people will actually want to watch.
  • The edit is where you do your best work. You know how to take raw footage and build a story - pacing, structure, music, b-roll what gets cut.
  • You have a high bar and strong point of view on what good looks like. You can watch a video and say exactly why it works or doesn't - and you apply that standard to your own work.
  • You don't let a shoot that's going sideways stay bad. You instinctively read a room and adjust your approach mid-shoot if an interview isn't working.
  • Self-directed - doesn't need to be managed toward the next project.
  • 5+ years of experience in video content creation with a proven track record of producing standout and original work, as evidenced by portfolio.
  • Hands-on experience shooting and editing high-quality video content using tools like Premiere Pro.
Nice to have
  • You get subjects comfortable on camera and pull out a real answer, not a rehearsed one
  • Being able to produce stories also outside of the video production domain
  • Understanding of post-production workflows with tools like After Effects
  • Awareness of the latest GenAI tools and workflows for video and static content

About AppLovin

Applovin Corporation, doing business as AppLovin, is a mobile technology company headquartered in Palo Alto, California. Founded in 2012, it operated in stealth mode until 2014. AppLovin enables developers of all sizes to market, monetize, analyze and publish their apps through its mobile advertising, marketing, and analytics platforms MAX, AppDiscovery, and SparkLabs. AppLovin operates Lion Studios, which works with game developers to promote and publish their mobile games. AppLovin also has large investments in various mobile game publishers. In 2020, 49% of AppLovin's revenue came from businesses using its software and 51% from consumers making in-app purchases. AppLovin was founded in 2012 by Adam Foroughi, John Krystynak, and Andrew Karam. Foroughi stated that the AppLovin name came from Bloglovin', a content organizing company, contrary to reports of an homage to the Christopher Mintz-Plasse character from the 2007 film, Superbad. The company operated in stealth mode until 2014, raising $4 million in financing from angel investors, Streamlined Ventures and the Webb Investment Network. Before emerging from stealth mode, AppLovin acquired customers including Opentable and Spotify. In October 2014, AppLovin purchased the German mobile ad-network, Moboqo. On September 26, 2016, it was reported that AppLovin had agreed to be acquired by the Chinese private equity firm, Orient Hontai Capital, for $1.42 billion; the acquisition deal was subsequently abandoned for debt investment after opposition to the plans from CFIUS. The company was ranked #10 on the 2016 Deloitte Fast 500 North America list, and again in 2018. Foroughi was recognized on the 2017 San Francisco Business Times "40 Under 40" list.
