Full Job Description
As a Creative Fragrance Director, you will lead fragrance development projects across regions and categories, translating client and business needs into olfactive strategies. You will guide the creation and evaluation process, coordinate resources, and partner with commercial and category teams to support business growth. You will also use market, consumer, and category knowledge to identify opportunities and support fragrance development strategies. Your Title: Creative Fragrance Director Your Location: New York City, NY You Will Report To: Creative Fragrance Team Director Your Responsibilities • Lead cross-regional and cross-category fragrance development projects from brief through creation, evaluation, and submission. • Manage fragrance briefs and coordinate Perfumery, Consumer Insights, Marketing, and laboratory resources throughout the development process. • Develop regional and global fragrance strategies based on client needs, consumer research, market trends, and category priorities. • Partner with Commercial and Category teams to identify business needs, support category planning, and improve project win rates. • Build and curate fragrance collections based on market needs, gap analysis, trends, and available Givaudan technologies. • Guide fragrance selection for activation projects and identify opportunities to leverage creations across regions. • Share category, market, and evaluation knowledge across teams and mentor junior evaluation colleagues. • Communicate olfactive strategies and fragrance recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders. Your Professional Profile Includes • University degree or equivalent. • 12+ years of fragrance industry experience, including fragrance creation, evaluation, development, or related functions. • Experience leading complex fragrance development projects for key or global clients. • Experience evaluating fragrances and selecting submissions for client and activation projects. • Knowledge of fragrance products, market dynamics, consumer trends, brands, and product categories. • Experience translating client strategies, priorities, and briefs into olfactive direction. • Experience contributing to category strategy, planning, and fragrance development processes. • Experience working with regional and international teams; global or international experience is desirable. • Experience using digital solutions and fragrance development tools. Compensation and Benefits The established salary range for this position is $190,000-$250,000. Actual compensation will depend on individual qualifications.
