Position Overview

Conexus Beauty, Fragrance, and Homecare products client is seeking a Cost Accounting Manager to lead and support inventory and cost accounting activities in a fast-growing, dynamic consumer goods environment. Reporting directly to the VP of Finance, this role is key to maintaining precise inventory and COGS reporting, and driving strategic cost tracking across production, freight, and warehousing. Operating within a Shared Services framework, you will collaborate closely with Accounting, Supply Chain, and Operations to ensure accurate product costing, manage third-party logistics (3PL) reconciliations, and maintain robust internal controls as our global footprint continues to expand.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Manage month-end close activities related to inventory, COGS, and cost-related accruals within an efficient month end close cycle.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive monthly inventory reconciliations between D365 ERP, 3PL warehouse reports, and the general ledger.
  • Review and maintain standard costs, Purchase Price Variances (PPV), and Bill of Materials (BOM) costing across complex product assortments.
  • Track and analyze inventory adjustments, write-offs, and reserves for obsolete, slow-moving, or damaged stock.
  • Partner closely with Supply Chain and Operations teams to validate global inventory movements and guarantee precise financial reporting.
  • Direct and assist with cycle counts and physical inventory processes, driving variance investigation and root cause analysis.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and provide detailed P&L fluctuation commentary for cost and inventory accounts.
  • Actively leverage AI tools and automation technologies to modernize reconciliations, reporting, and routine data workflows.
  • Support external audits by maintaining organized documentation and schedules in compliance with Deloitte and GAAP standards.
  • Manage cost accounting workflows while collaborating with outsourced AP teams and cross-functional partners in FP&A and Operations.
  • Monitor and evaluate cycle count completion rates, landed cost trends, and inventory reserve adequacy to optimize working capital.
  • Partner with IT and Finance teams to continuously optimize D365 ERP workflows, system integrations, and reporting frameworks.
  • Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for inventory accounting to ensure process scalability and audit readiness.
