  • M.S. in Civil/Environmental Engineering or closely related field, or Ph.D. Candidate designation preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in design, operation, or maintenance of pipelines and water/wastewater infrastructure, including project management.
  • 5+ years in engineering economics, project delivery, technical writing, data analysis, and construction/repair inspection.
  • Ability to secure a Professional Engineer license within six years of hire, and Cathodic Protection/Coating Inspection certification within four years.

Job Title Corrosion Process Engineer Location Virginia Beach, VA, US Organization Name Asset Management Ops Work Schedule and Other Information Brief Description Under broad guidance, the Corrosion Process Engineer (CPE) is responsible for serving as a technical resource for the Director of Asset Management on all infrastructure corrosion related matters. The CPE consults with operations work centers, design and construction, and condition assessment staff to manage HRSD infrastructure corrosion mitigation efforts. The CPE is also responsible for conducting engineering design and analysis and for providing engineering input to upgrade and improvement projects implemented at HRSD. Job Requirements
Education

Required
• BS Degree in Engineering or related field from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited institution with major course in civil/environmental engineering, materials engineering, corrosion engineering or closely related field.
• Master of Science (M.S.) Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or closely related field or Ph.D. Candidate designation

Experience

Required
• Minimum of 5 years of experience focused on the design, operation, or maintenance of pipelines and/or water/wastewater conveyance and treatment infrastructure, to include project management and environmental regulatory enforcement
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering economics, project delivery, technical writing, data analysis, and construction/repair inspection

Licenses and Certifications Requirements

Required
• Ability to obtain a Professional Engineer license within six years of hire
• Ability to obtain an approved Cathodic Protection and/or Coating Inspection certification from the Association for Materials Protection and Performance within four years of hire
• Valid Driver's License
