Position Overview

We are seeking a senior-level Cloud Desktop / VDI Engineer to design, modernize, and operate enterprise virtual desktop and cloud-hosted desktop platforms. This role is focused primarily on Windows 365 Cloud PC and Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), with strong Windows engineering skills required to ensure secure, stable, performant, and supportable desktop experiences across cloud, virtual, and physical endpoint environments.

The ideal candidate will bring deep hands-on expertise with Windows 365 Cloud PC, Azure Virtual Desktop host pools, session hosts, images, scaling plans, FSLogix, Intune, Entra ID, endpoint security, identity integration, profile management, application delivery, monitoring, troubleshooting, and automation. Strong Windows 11 engineering skills are important, including image management, configuration standards, policy management, patching, application compatibility, security baselines, and performance tuning; however, the critical requirement for this role is proven experience engineering and supporting enterprise-scale Windows 365 and AVD environments.

This engineer will partner closely with infrastructure, networking, security, endpoint management, application, identity, and operations teams to deliver reliable Cloud Desktop and VDI services aligned to business needs. The role requires senior-level technical judgement, strong troubleshooting ability across desktop, identity, network, virtualization, and cloud layers, and the ability to automate repeatable processes that improve reliability, reduce operational overhead, and enhance the end-user experience.

What You'll Do:
• Windows 365 Cloud PC Engineering: Design, engineer, configure, support, and optimize Windows 365 Cloud PC environments, including provisioning policies, Cloud PC images, user assignment models, license utilization, device configuration, security baselines, network connectivity, performance monitoring, resiliency, and operational support processes.
• Azure Virtual Desktop Engineering: Architect, deploy, manage, and troubleshoot Azure Virtual Desktop environments, including host pools, workspaces, application groups, session hosts, scaling plans, images, FSLogix profiles, network integration, identity integration, monitoring, security configuration, and capacity planning.
• Cloud Desktop / VDI Platform Ownership: Serve as a senior technical engineer for enterprise Cloud Desktop and VDI platforms, ensuring that Windows 365 and AVD services are scalable, secure, resilient, cost-aware, well-documented, and aligned with enterprise architecture, security, and operational standards.
• Windows Engineering Support: Apply strong Windows 11 engineering skills to support Cloud Desktop and VDI environments, including image lifecycle management, Windows configuration standards, Intune and Group Policy management, patching, application compatibility, endpoint security baselines, driver and firmware coordination where applicable, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
• Persona-Based Workspace Delivery: Develop and maintain persona-driven desktop and workspace models that align Windows 365, AVD, application access, performance profiles, security controls, and user experience standards to the needs of different business and technical user groups.
• Application, Profile & User Experience Optimization: Engineer and support solutions for application delivery, FSLogix profile management, identity-based access, logon optimization, session performance, desktop responsiveness, collaboration application readiness, endpoint configuration, and consistent user experience across Windows 365, AVD, and related workspace platforms.
• Automation & Operational Efficiency: Create and maintain automation using PowerShell, Azure tooling, APIs, infrastructure-as-code, and workflow tools to streamline provisioning, image updates, host pool maintenance, policy configuration, application deployment, monitoring, reporting, and recurring operational activities.
• Security, Compliance & Governance: Implement and maintain security controls for cloud-hosted desktop platforms, including Conditional Access, MFA integration, endpoint compliance, Defender integration, Zero Trust alignment, data protection requirements, logging, monitoring, audit readiness, and adherence to enterprise security standards.
• Monitoring, Troubleshooting & Escalation Support: Provide senior-level troubleshooting and escalation support for complex Windows 365, AVD, Windows, profile, application, network, identity, and performance issues. Establish health monitoring, capacity reporting, proactive alerting, root-cause analysis, and service improvement practices.
• Documentation & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Produce clear architecture, configuration, support, and operational documentation. Collaborate with infrastructure, networking, security, identity, application, service desk, and operations teams to ensure Cloud Desktop and VDI services are reliable, supportable, and well understood.

What You'll Bring:
• 7+ years of experience in enterprise Cloud Desktop, VDI, end-user computing, virtualization, Windows engineering, or digital workspace engineering roles.
• Deep hands-on experience engineering and supporting Windows 365 Cloud PC at enterprise scale.
• Deep hands-on experience designing, deploying, operating, and troubleshooting Azure Virtual Desktop environments, including host pools, session hosts, workspaces, images, scaling plans, FSLogix, and application delivery.
• Strong Windows 11 engineering skills, including image creation and maintenance, Windows configuration standards, Intune, Group Policy, patching, security baselines, application compatibility, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management.
• Strong understanding of Microsoft cloud desktop and endpoint technologies, including Azure, Entra ID, Intune, Microsoft 365, Windows 365, Azure Virtual Desktop, FSLogix, Defender for Endpoint, Conditional Access, and endpoint compliance.
• Experience integrating Cloud Desktop and VDI platforms with enterprise networking, identity, security, monitoring, storage, and operational support processes.
• Advanced scripting and automation skills using PowerShell, Azure CLI, APIs, Terraform, ARM/Bicep, or similar automation and infrastructure-as-code tooling.
• Experience with application packaging, application publishing, MSIX/App Attach concepts, software deployment, user profile management, and desktop performance optimization.
• Ability to design scalable, secure, resilient, and cost-aware Cloud Desktop and VDI services for large enterprise user populations.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across desktop operating systems, virtual desktop infrastructure, Azure services, networking, identity, profiles, applications, and endpoint management.
• Experience defining persona-based workspace models, desktop performance standards, user experience requirements, support models, and operational processes.
• Excellent communication, documentation, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration skills with the ability to translate business needs into practical engineering solutions.
• Relevant Microsoft certifications preferred, such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty, Microsoft 365 Endpoint Administrator, Azure Administrator, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in regulated enterprise environments such as financial services, insurance, healthcare, or similar industries is preferred.
• Exposure to Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, VMware Horizon, Azure VMware Solution, or hybrid VDI strategies is helpful but secondary to Windows 365 and Azure Virtual Desktop expertise.

Pay Transparency

Salary Range: $147,500-$211,000

Overtime eligible: Exempt

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
