About the Role:

The Corporate Safety Manager plays a critical role in ensuring a safe and compliant working environment across all manufacturing facilities within the organization. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving comprehensive safety programs that align with federal, state, and local regulations. The role requires close collaboration with operational leaders to identify potential hazards, conduct risk assessments, and promote a culture of safety awareness among employees. The Corporate Safety Manager will lead incident investigations, analyze safety data, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Ultimately, this role aims to minimize workplace injuries and illnesses, protect company assets, and support sustainable business operations through proactive safety management. Candidate must be a bold advocate for promoting a safety-first culture while developing a vision for implementing and maintaining safety policies and procedures. A natural trainer, willing to coach and mentor the production leadership and all team members on compliance and various safety initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety management within a manufacturing environment.
• Minimum 5 years managing workplace accidents, incidents, injuries or illness.
• In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards to include overall health and safety best practices.
• Proven experience conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to train and influence employees at all organizational levels.
• Extensive attention to detail to distinguish safety hazards.
• Ability to provide detailed reports and develop safety protocols
• Good organizational, leadership and motivational skills
• Excellent writing, communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) designation.
• Experience with ISO 45001 or other occupational health and safety management systems.
• Familiarity with environmental regulations and sustainability practices in manufacturing.
• Demonstrated success in leading safety culture transformation initiatives.
• Proficiency in safety management software and data analysis tools.

Responsibilities:

• Appointed safety liaison between Corporate and all company locations, leading regular safety meetings, audits, site inspections, training record audits and monitoring OSHA compliance.
• Responsible for OSHA required reporting of injuries and assisting with OSHA responses inquiries and/or investigations.
• Collect and analyze safety data to identify injury/incidents trends and implement programs to reduce and/or eliminate future occurrences.
• Liaison to workers' compensation carriers to manage claims activity
• Take lead on investigating all safety related incidents, reviews incident reports and completes necessary reports and communications.
• Collaborate with Human Resources on orientation and various employee safety training topics.
• Regularly inspects and reviews plant operations to assure compliance of all permits, operation and equipment with state and federal regulations. Reports any potential violations and recommends corrective action as needed.
• Responsible for tracking employee training in areas such as safety awareness, machine guarding, hand safety, material handling, pedestrian safety, overhead loads, hazard identification, lockout/tagout, personal protective equipment.
• Stay current with industry best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging safety technologies to enhance the company's safety programs.
